The Knicks rookie is simply amazing, not only is he averaging 15.5ppg but he is shooting above .500. I watched some of his moves yesterday versus the Celtics and he seems like a mini-kobe but efficient. What other unknown players do you think will make a name for themselves this season?

LMAO @ mini Kobe but efficient. I knew something was up when I saw your name

We have been calling him Melo-lite in the Knicks forum for a while now.

Hes 6-8 and built rock solid. Backs people down in the post with an array of moves, strokes the 3 ball well, shoots off the dribble, and runs the pick and roll as the roller extremely well. Seems to always make his defensive rotations.

Definitely looks to be the last guy who makes our top 15, and might even take Sheed's spot.

loooool mini kobe but efficient .... judging by the fact you didnt even post his name.. clearly Mr.Mini Kobe hasn't been turning too many heads... lol mini kobe.... he could be Kobe;s jizz rag... if he was lucky

2 games against the C's he has 55 points in 55 minutes. Its preseason, but hes been as impressive as any no-names out there and Grunwald's track record with no-names is impressive as anyones.

So mini Kobe and Melo lite? Two very different players.

Kobe himself has said on numerous occasions that Melo's offensive repertoire is the closest thing in the league to his. Outside of their D (well, Kobe's D in when he was in his prime), they are very similar talents.

why dont people wait a whole year to say that someone is sick. Players get on hot streaks, big deal. Prove it over 82 game strech

If he's sick for the whole year he might end up dying. When somebody is sick you have to address right away, otherwise it might be too late.

Outside of scoring, Melo is a completely useless player.

Considering hes top 10 rebounding and top 5 assists at his position, and at worst an average defender, I'd disagree.

Is Durant completely worthless outside of scoring?

Copeland can be really good. Id rather him play than Amare at this point. At least he can stay on the freaking court.

looks decent, but I doubt his jumper will fall on a decent percentage in regular season action.

Outside of scoring, Melo is a completely useless player.

Rephrase this: Outside of Melo being the best scorer in the NBA he's... oh, I see his value now.
When he is NOT scoring he can set screens and rebound. He's also improving defensively and has proven to be a good passer. His presence on the court keeps defenses honest, which helps when you have a guards who can breakdown off the dribble like the Knicks have.

Copeland is likely the most talented player I've seen since Harold Miner (excluding Mike James of course).

Knicks are taking it all this year.

Is this the same Chris Copeland that played for the Fort Worth Flyers? He shot a higher 3pt% than FG%... how much sense does that make? lol

yea he's been impressive this preseason

hell get out final spot... and with amare facing downtime for a few season games I see him getting early playing time

He's definitely a better player than Kobe.

ladies and gentleman, this is the reason why the knicks fan base is trashed on this site.

not sure whether or not dleethal agrees with this, but most of the posters in that forum wouldn't hesitate when saying he's going to be the next greatest superstar in the NBA.

yes, he's had a great preseason, but he's playing players that most likely won't be on an NBA roster for a good percentage of his minutes. let's not go overboard here.

Stop with the next messiah sh|t. He is a rook having decent 2nd half minutes. Please stop it with the replace STAT crap. He's a stringy 6'8" that can allegedly post up 3s, but not 4s.

Well than your misconstruing how I meant it. Thats the type of game he plays, hes well rounded offensive player, they have similar skillsets. That doesn't mean hes anywhere in Melo's stratosphere as a player.

yea he'll get some time because amare is injured. he actually has earned playing time at least 10 min per game because hes been doing so well.

on another note "mini kobe bryant but more efficient" lmao man i was laughing at work for 10 min straight when i saw that. no way in the world your a 28 year old rookie and a mini kobe at the same time

Raptors defence is the best in the league since they can shut down mini Kobe AKA Melo Lite AKA Copeland

you would only consider it?! garnett paired with tyson down low is a coach's dream on defense. garnett is LIGHT YEARS better than amare, even at this age.
