View Full Version : Build a Super-Team without using HOFers.

Ok... firstly. you must use players who have been retired long enough to be eligiable for the HOF (that's seven years or more) So.. using players who have not made it into the HOF, build a super team that could compete for an NBA title. Here's mine:

PG: Mark Price/Tim Hardaway (I looked it up, can't believe he's not in the HOF)
SG: Mitch Richmond/Jeff Hornacek
SF: Mark Aguire/Bernard King
PF: Larry Nance/Otis Thorpe/Robert Horry (need somebody for the game winner)
C: Brad Daughtery/Bill Laimbeer

Frankly, I can't beleive some of these guys aren't in the HOF.

PG: Andre Miller/Sam Cassell
SG: Tracy McGrady (not gonna be a HOFer)/Glen Rice
SF: Peja Stojakovic/Metta World Peace
PF: Chris Webber/Rasheed Wallace
C: Theo Ratliff (young obv)/Brad Miller

At peak:

5: Brad Daugherty, Jack Sikma
4: Larry Nance, Buck Williams
3/4: Detlef Schremph, Bobby Jones
3: Sidney Moncrief
3/2: Michael Cooper
2: Walter Davis, Paul Westphal
1: Kevin Johnson, Mo Cheeks

Balance between O and D. No ball hogs. If they were translated to today, this team wins the title with little trouble.

7 years retired not current

T.Hardaway 17ppg 8asp
Richmond 21ppg 38%3pt
Rice 18ppg 40%3pt
Kemp 14ppg 8rpg
Divac 12ppg 8rpg

I picked my fav players from the 90's-00' all of them made the all star team atleast once, although the frontcourt duo isn't dominating they both had pretty good careers and Kemp at time was one of the best PF'S

Mark Eaton... my gawd! lol. I'm still not sure how that guy ever made an All-Star team, but that said, he knew how to block shots, though I always expected more rebounds out of that guy (not that he was a bad rebounder). Offensively inept, but man could he block shots. And he was HUGE!!! 7'4? WTF?!??!?!?!?! lol Very interesting pick. I wonder what kind of numbers he'd be putting up if he played today. Curious thing about Eaton, in his rookie year, he was 26 years old!

LOL, I screwed up so many times just picking a team following your guidelines. Even the team that you quoted had to be edited after further research. My strategy = balance between a offensive interior and defensive force combined with balance on the perimeter.

At there best:

PG: Tim Hardaway/ Gus Williams (at his best avg 20 ppg and 8 apg)/ Mark Price
SG: Sidney Moncrief/ Michael Ray Richardson/ Mitch Richmond
SF: Bernard King/ Mark Aguire/ Latrell Sprewell
PF: Larry Nance / Terry Cummings/ Tom Chambers
C: Jack Sikma/ Bill Lambier/ Vlade Divac

That's my 15 man roster of players who have retired within the last 7 years and didn't make the Hall. Some impressive players man!
