View Full Version : If You Are Given A Chance to Hit Against an MLB Pitcher...

How much would you pay?

I'm asking for charity purposes. You get 4 pitches that are strikes and the pitches are random from a particular pitcher. Balls are not counted. There will be an umpire for the sake of the "human element" as well. Souvenir you'll get is a digital download of your session from a trusted website. If you get to hit any of the pitches, the pitcher will sign that ball, with a congratulation certificate. If you don't get to hit any, you still get the video via download.

Choices of pitchers: Rotational pitchers and Closers are "premium." What premium means is that you pay 2 times than the "regular" price. Hypothetically, you pay $5 for a standard pitcher. If you choose a pitcher from a pool of "premium" pitchers, you then pay $10.

The event will also be held at one of the real MLB ballparks.

Event organizer, pitchers, and anyone involved within the charity event is not liable to any injury and/or death that is caused to the participant.

All proceeds goes the the charity(s).

Prices are $50, $100, $150, $200, $200+.

I guess I would pay 10 bucks.

I think I'd be able to make contact once. My friend made varsity baseball as a freshman last year and had a scrimmage against Patchoge-Medford High School here on Long Island and had to face Matt Vogel: http://www.perfectgame.org/Players/PlayerProfile.aspx?ID=268487

He said he didn't even bother swinging.

Id pay the 200+ given that its for charity. If it wasn't for charity, I think 50 is a good number.

I'd def pay $100 bucks for that.

Being from Delaware, we havent had many big time names come through here. In high school I faced a couple guys that made it to A and AA ball.

Only 1 AB against a guy that threw in the MLB and that was Ian Snell. I struck out :o

This is starting to sound a lot like the "how good were you at basketball" threads lol.

Everyone should just hand them the money and walk by the plate.

If I choose Barry Zito does he have to pay me since he'd fail to throw a strike?

I'd love to face Kershaw, I'd pay 100 bucks, probably more. Regardless of how quickly he K's me, which he'd do in 3 pitches, it'd be a great story.

I know its nothing to special, but Brad Hand (Marlins) and I pitched against each other when we were 17, I won a 5-4 and went 2-4 off him.. I was no where near as good, but it makes you think.. I would pay 200 for charity 50-100 if it went to the team or whatever..

Gimmie an AB in the NLCS with runners on 2nd and 3rd. I can't do much worse than Hunter Pence.
