I guess to be the best team in baseball you need to put yourself in the posiiton be down to your last strike, instead of the Giants of 2010 of never being down a game in the postseason. Living on the edge>being the better team throughout the series

That was horrific to read. First of all, if it werent for the horrible new 2nd WC rule, They would have missed the Division by 10 games and the WC by 7. They dont even belong in The playoffs. THEY HAD THE 11th BEST RECORD IN BASEBALL through 163 games. The last 6, which they are 4-2 in, do not make them the best team in baseball.

I think the title is a bit off, instead of best team in baseball, it should read most dangerous team left in the playoffs

The Boztalian
10-13-2012, 12:45 AM
Theyre like the New York Giants of baseball. Average all season long, barely squeeze in the playoffs, get hot at the right time and have a good month to win it all. Giants in 07 and 11, Cards in 11, 06, and probly this year.

My point is that they dont belong in a position to be able to change where they finish. Sadly, the MLB added a new rule to improve ratings that the Cards will benefit from

By no means were they the best team in baseball through their first 168 games. But if you want to argue they are the best of the giants, yanks, and tigers, id be interested to see if you had any logical points as to how they are better than the yanks and giants...other than "swag and pedigree"

there def not the best but there the most battle tested and the most experienced team and in the postseason that means almost as much as talent

To me that is not true. The Giants are one year removed from doing the same exact thing the Cards have done, and most of the Yankees core players have been playing playoff baseball for almost every season. They were clearly more battled tested then the Nationals and that def. showed, much like the Giants and Reds.

idk their line up is stacked down to the 8-hole pretty much

theyre starting 1-4 is solid/elite. well garcias out now so idk whos taking his place (tho weinwright sucked tonight)

Idk? You make such a bold thread but when asked to defend it you..dk?
Ill ask again. Do you have any logical argument that you can say the Cards are specifically better than the Yanks or Giants?

giants need to put lincecum back in the rotation imo.

their top 3 is dangerous as well

yankees have been terrible in the postseason except for 2009 when the competition was crap

they have experience but that lineup outside of jeter is full of a bunch of choke artists who are more concerned with how much ***** they can get after the game (arod)

giants team is very different from the team that won the title

i dont care

the yankees are irrevelant to me

when i was 12 i liked to root against the yankees but ive outgrown that

ive already accepted the yankees will be in the playoffs every year its the economic system baseball and bud selig wants and accepts

without the yankees providing tv ratings the sport would be close to dying off like hockey has

Amazing do not deserve to be in the playoffs in the first place, knock off the Braves (whom would be leading 4 out of 6 other divisions) for the Wild Card. Only to knock off the best winning record baseball team. Good god almighty that's bs. Wonder if the Nats feel as sick as us Braves fans?

I think if there was a baseball god it's obviously a cardinals fan.
