Joke all you want but Eddy was signed by the Heat for a reason because he still has game, he was a very good player once scoring with a fg%. I think if Spurs sign him he can be really good back to his 05-06 days. He wouldnt be in this league working out for teams if he was bad.

I expect decent minutes from a backup center role if he signs with Spurs/

Ok when Eddy Curry comes into the game and ruins all your teams, ill be making a thread poking fun at all of you.
The guy is a veteran that at one point was one of the best scorers in the game in NY, I always liked his game watching him.

This is why I wonder ESPN ranked him #500 at the worse player in the NBA. He always seems to have a job. I know guys higher than his rank that are in the D-League.

Just a training camp invite folks. He's going to have to really impress in order to make the team.

At least he's continued to keep himself in good shape losing an additional 15 lbs this summer.

seems a bit odd but far from me to doubt the SAS front office. he has always been talented. if anyone could get something out of the guy it would be the spurs.

If he sticks around it's another big body to stick on bigger teams like Memphis and LA, at the very least to do some hack-a-whoever.

According to Chris broussard's sources, Curry was signed to non-guaranteed 3 weeks of free #3 @ Burger kings but due to the Spurs financial restraints, cheese will not be included in the deal.

Im not suprised at all, like I said im a genius. I said that the Nets should sign this guy and everyone called be dumb. But now the Spurs one of the best run teams in the NBA signed him, I dont think if he was a liability they would have signed him.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHY?!?!?!?!?

The guy is a veteran that at one point was one of the best scorers in the game in NY, I always liked his game watching him.

When was this guy ever one of the best scorers in the game? He averaged 19 points a game for one season. Even Mike James could pull that off. Isiah ran like every play for the guy all season. Of course he's going to score. And yes, he had a high FG%, because every shot he took was within a yard of the basket.

The Knicks (Isiah) thought he had 'potential' when he was in Chi-town, and caughed up a bunch of draft picks to work a sign-and-trade deal with the Bulls (who were happy to let him go) and Thomas, because this was his big blockbuster deal that was supposed to make the Knicks better, ran the offence through him when he would have frankly been better off running it through David Lee (who shot an even higher FG% than Curry did that season).

He wasn't even in the top ten for scoring that season. Not even close to being one of the best scorers.

And he's an awful defender and rebounder. And he's still out of shape.

Like I said if he wasnt worth signing nobody would sign him there are hundreds of bigs both Miami and Spurs could have chosen but Curry was picked. Maybe its because he actually has game, or maybe its because he is a great leader in the lockeroom because both Pat Riley and the Spurs thought Curry would be a good pickup. He must be doing something right.

In all seriousness, I wish him the best. The guy has gone through a lot. Hope he does well.

Curry has a lot of talent. I don't know if he's one of those guys who is great at one point of their careers, then sucks, and never comes back...

I wanted the Spurs to beat the Thunder and win it all during last year's playoffs, and I thin their off-season was not that good.

Now, if Curry pans out. If he can get back to a solid production, this is the best environment to do it. They need another inside scorer and some injection of youth, so he could help there.

You can pretty much stop considering Matt Bonner for the playoffs insert Curry or Blair into that rotation. Spurs' playoff success will be largely dependent on Danny Green and Kawhi Leonard improving.

C Duncan, Curry
PF Diaw, Splitter
SF Leonard, Jackson
SG Green, Ginobili
PG Parker, De Colo

I would go Parker,Green,Leonard,Duncan,Curry you have 2 big men who can score and Duncan can go back to playing PF. Then have Diaw come off the bench.

Only on certain matchups. Duncan isn't as quick as he used to be, and is now more comfortable defending at C.

With Diaw on the floor, the Spurs had masterful ball movement. Curry would give them an inside presence off the bench to complement the outside shooters like Jackson, Ginobili etc.
