View Full Version : Who is a so called "Thorn in your side"?

Mr. LA
09-30-2012, 01:36 PM
A thorn in your side is basically a player that irritates you and that you can't stand for one reason or another! Don't just say Kobe Bryant or Lebron James... I'm sure all non Heat or Laker fans hate James and Bryant but that's just because they are superstars...Don't just say you hate someone because they repeatedly destory your team and make big time money. lol Instead state the guys that just simply get under your skin (I'm not saying James or Bryant can't be that guy for you!) Anyways here are the guys that I just can't stand!

I'm a Laker fan btw (Obviously)

Jason Terry
James Harden
Chris Bosh
Raja Bell
Chris Paul

I'm sure their are plenty more but I can't think of them right now! lol how about you?

For the Pacers:

Kevin Love
Joakim Noah
Paul Pierce
Grant Hill
And oddly, Mehmet Okur. No other marginal player manages to drop 30 on the Pacers like Okur.

Teams that have terrible players but they play good as a team, i cant stand those teams.
Nuggets have average players but they get too lucky because of their coach.
Knicks whole bench pisses me off too because they're trashcans and get easy, lucky 3s.

Well... to be honest, Kobe gets under my skin more than anybody because he has the potential to be such a great facilitator but he just loves putting up as many shots as he can. Obviously he has passed the ball in big situations and has grown as a player, but to me, the way he plays, makes him a top 25 type player, but had he had less of an ego and more appreciation for team play like; Magic, Bird, Nash, Stockton, Duncan have, then he would be a top ten player without a doubt. He's an amazing talent, and I know you have to have an ego to do well in this league, but for me, there is some selfishness in Kobe that isn't present in the other players I've mentioned, and it impacts his on court performance and makes him less of a player.

The other guy that gets under my skin is LBJ, and it's not just the leaving Cleveland bit, but the fact that he and Wade (who also get under my skin) flop so much. LBJ is the best basketball player on the planet. There is no reason for him to be flopping, and Wade is perhaps the best player at his position, so again, there is no need for him to be flopping. These guys should just go out there and play ball and leave it on the floor and quit playing games witht he officials and trying to get every little call. I've watched a lot of basketball and I don't ever remember Jordan, or Bird or Magic flopping the way these guys do. Pippen maybe, but seriously... you are the best basketball player on the planet, why do you need to flop?

Kobes also been in the league for 16 years.

Lebron could get to 5 when its all said and done. Wait until they both retire to play the "how many championships has passing gotten him so far" card.

Think it would be better if people listed guys that weren't all stars since most of those guys are thorn's in every teams sides.

Marcus Thorton always tends to do good against us. Darrell Arthur always seemed to play good as well. Goran Dragic
