View Full Version : Who are you rooting for to win 2012 World Series?

CubsBullsBucs
09-29-2012, 10:48 PM
This is more of a thread for fans who dont have their favorite team in the playoffs. If your favorite team is in the playoffs, who would you root for if you were not a fan of that team?

There are still 4 games left, but the playoff picture looks like it is set, barring a wild finish from someone.

AL Division Winners:
Texas
Detroit
Baltimore/New York
AL Wild Card:
Oakland vs. Baltimore/New York. (home field advantage still up in the air)

NL Division Winners:
Cinncinati
Washington
San Francisco
NL Wild Card:
Saint Louis @ Atlanta

Personally, i am rooting for Oakland to come out of the AL. They truly have come out of nowhere, and it would make a good ending to Money Ball. The same can be said of Baltimore, but i like Oakland more. I am also rooting for the Braves to come out of the NL, mostly because of Chipper. And i have nothing against Atlanta as a Cubs/Pirates fan. I want to see one of baseballs greatest players of the modern era to end his career with a world series win.

World Series Wish: Oakland vs. Atlanta
World Series Champion Wish: Atlanta
don't care much either way though.

Of course I want the Giants to win it all.

I'd love to see a Giants/A's or Orioles or Yankees World Series.

A's, obviously because they're a rival and right across the Bay.

Orioles just because they're fun to watch and have been such a big story. Both teams would be a perfect tandem to represent October baseball with their colors (not really why I want them there though).

Yankees because it's always big when the Yankees are in the World Series, and for pay back in 1962 (even though I wasn't alive).

It's not set at all actually... Dodgers will make it... We should be 2 back after tonight with 4 to go... we can sweep a Giants team giving not full effort and 1 with the Rockies... They play 1 with the Nationals (still trying hard to win) and the Reds who might or might not be trying hard to win

Yea he's a bit on the homer side. If there's any embarrassment it's the fact that the Nationals allow such an unprofessional tool to help call their games.

That being said, I don't know about the World Series, but I'm rooting for a Orioles and Athletics match up in the championship series for the AL. In the NL I could care less just as long as it isn't the Cardinals or Dodgers. Good thing we won't have to worry about that.

WS--Cardinals over Orioles

Who I hope doesn't make it and why

Nationals--Don't deserve it after misusing Strasburg, IMO.
Braves--Fans are terrible, Chipper is the only redeeming aspect of their team.
Yankee's--Too many titles all ready. Although, if the Orioles don't make itI will be cheering for a Cardinals vs Yankees match-up.
Tigers--Cardinals have already played them too frequently in the WS.
A's--would maybe be interesting for the young team from the west, but the game times would be terrible here in Ohio.
Rangers---they have had their chances, nobody cares anymore.
Dodgers--can't buy their way into the playoffs...not going to make it.
Giants--nothing against them, but personally don't care and as mentioned the west coast game times are terrible for MW fans.
Reds--please, I'm a Cardinals fan.

cardinals - they have the most WS wins after the yankees
braves - they have won WS titles before

A's - they have won ws before
reds- they have won WS before
