He has been really good this year. Does his resurgence justify the white sox claiming him for nothing a few years ago?

Was it last year?

No, it wasn't last year...

2010 and 2012, yes considering they gave up nothing to get him. 2011 however he was atrocious while making 12.5 mil. He still is on the hook for 2/25 before a team option of 13.5 in 2015, so he'll need to perform the next 2 years similarly to this year to justify the contract we inherited.

For this year, yes. For last year, hell no.

Or the team wins the world series.

Yes. It doesn't really matter what he did last year. If he had this type of year last year the Sox still wouldn't have been close to reaching the postseason. He's been huge for them this year and could be the difference maker in the division race.

What a douchebag. How long does it take to scribble your name on a baseball for one kid?

Guppyfighter

I could see how an 0-5 with five strikes out would make him a little bit irritated and he probably just doesn't like kids. Bad mix. I am not going to judge him on one moment because we all act like *******s sometimes.

I can understand if there was a big group of people, but one kid and his car was right there. Come on. He can do that. That's a douche move.

I don't even need to click the link to know what video that is. Probably his most memorable moment here.

To a guy that can hit a baseball, a little PED's is all it takes to get over that hump! Good job Alex! Finally earning your hefty pay.

Well if you guys are going to call out Rios for not signing then you better call out Bautista for not signing as well.....

Also I thought it was known that kid was sent by the guy who is calling him a bum. He sends kids so the player signs so he can get autographs.

people love to hold onto a grudge dont they?

one moment in a mans life where he doesn't want to sign an autograph and people judge him like he's burning babies at the stake. how petty fans can be.

Use this argument with Yunel Escobar...

Escobar consciously did what he did, Rios' was just a snap reaction. Two entirely different things.

Everyone know Rios is a grade A prick, lots of stories and incidents with him in his career, but he can play baseball. Never should have had him in CF last year, he's more comfortable in the corners. I don't know if one good year makes him worth the money the White Sox will/have paid him, but he's a productive OFer and they got him for free, so they're likely not complaining.

Rios has always been really talented. He should have more power than he has shown with his size and he has a good arm from right field with surprising speed for his size. I always just thought if he could figure out the mental side he could be very good. Contract aside I would love to have him in left field for the jays right now.

his '10 and '12 make him worth it. he will likely win comeback player this year and is a HUGE reason why the sox are in first right now.

dont see how they could complain.

cant find a youtube link, but does anyone remember when he was playing for the jays and he was jumping for a ball at the fence, the ball bounced off the wall and smoked him in the face. he had a shiner and throughout the rest of the season i remember him being very flinchy when ever he had to make a catch at the warning track. classic...

I do. I know what it's like to be a star. You have the expect the criticism, and not say **** you in front of a child.

I bet what Yunel did was his way of saying '**** you' to the people like you who were bashing him all season.
