CP3 assures me that he preferred the Clippers to the Lakers all along. "They had the better pieces," he says, "and winning with the Clippers would be legendary."

Which is why he sat out practice and preseason routines after learning that the Lakers trade had been vetoed.

Yeah, a player on a team saying he'd rather be on the team he is on opposed to their rivals. Crazy.

Better pieces? Didn't we have a better record last year? And we just had the best off-season in decades, so yeah whatever you say Chris.

Did you expect him to say he wanted to be a Laker, that wouldn't sound to good. :laugh2:

The Lakers were and are more talented but maybe he was looking at youth. Outside of Bynum, the Lakers didn't have much. He may have preferred guys like Griffin, Jordan, and even Bledsoe because he saw a brighter future.

at that moment and time, yes. Dwight Howard says nope now. I still think they would have gotten Dwight and CP3 if the league didn't quash the deal. Sending Odom to NO ( I believe ) and instead sent Odom to the Mavs in a fairly odd deal at the time.

First of all, you didn't even have the best offseason in the past three years. LeBron and Bosh are better than Howard and Nash. Second of all, not even the best offseason in franchise history, Kobe and Shaq in '96 are much better than Howard and Nash.

Mainly though, you're missing the point. Dwight and Nash weren't in the picture last year. He would have played with Kobe, who looked old, and Bynum, who never stayed healthy until last year. Long term it's much more appealing to play with Blake and all of those young guys and supporting pieces, especially since playing point guard with Kobe must not be very fun and now he gets to run Lob City.

What's interesting about what Paul said is the fact Dwight said the samething in regards to playing for the Nets.

It's moot point. He has to say that. However he does love being a Clipper and has said nothing but good things about the franchise. He ain't bolting. Blake has echoed the same things. I'm sure some haters still think he's gonna bolt! I don't doubt that Paul does take pride in turning this team around. All the jokes about the Clippers are just dumb at this point. The past is the past. On this day the Clippers are a winning franchise moving forward.

Than Kobe and Bynum?

Let's rewind:

Both Bynum and Blake already went through knee surgery.

BUT

Bynum is the 2nd best center in the league.

Blake is among the top 10 PFs but no way among the top 5.

And cmon, did he really use the phrase IN THE LONG RUN?

Gasol and Howard create matchup problems for the Heat who lack big men. Bosh cant guard those bigs, c'mon. And at least Metta could neutralize Bron to some extent. If the Lakers are healthy, they will easily mesh. CP3 has one future piece with the Clippers and that's Blake. Who else do they have? DeAndre Jordan? He's only good for dunks and D. The Clips have alot of good depth but they're aging players who will provide short term help. With the Lakers he can have Dwight Howard

Lakers have a really nice future set up if Howard decides to stay. If he does stay, in 2014 we've got nobody on the books outside of Nash only. Who knows maybe he retires by then as well. Either way, Dwight + Nash + a discounted Kobe and Gasol + another really nice young player in a great free agency class... or say if Kobe retires and Pau leaves, the Lakers would have Dwight as the center piece in a crazy good free agency class to pair him with another stud or two.

clippers have better pieces??? ok what they have?? Blake Griffin and???? second piece is Deandre Jordan???LMAO he is garbage, can't defend, has zero offensive moves.....yeah he can dunk and he can block couple of shots......men i saw him last season in play-offs he is f.ucking garbage, what other pieces they have?

Lakers4life08
09-20-2012, 06:08 AM
P.S. Yeah Lakers had only Bynum as 2-4 years time piece, but come on its Lakers, everyone knows that they will get top class talent in that time.....

And frankly it's true, if some how the Clippers were to win a title it would be a very huge deal for that franchise.

It's pretty obvious to me, if he went to the Lakers he'd just be a footnote to yet another championship. If he gets one with the Clippers though, he'd be remembered forever.
