Weird interleague schedule courtesy of Houston.

WTF!!!!! First, we both open and finish on the road. This should not be the case, if you open the season on the road you should finish at home; is the most logical thing.

Second, 7 games against nyy from Sept 5 to sept 15???

Last, what the hell do we do going all the way west from Boston just to play 2 games in Colorado on sept 24 and 25 (the second to last series of the season) and then fly back to Baltimore????

Bottom line: This sucks...

The 7 games is not unusual, we have 6 vs them this year. The 2 vs the Rockies is stupid, but there has to be year long interleague because of the Astros.

The worst part though is in August, when they play the Yankees on a Sunday which means a late Sunday night baseball game. The next day they have to play the Giants in San Francisco.

Now, don't go blaming the poor Astros. It's not like they wanted to come to the AL. Blame the players. They were the primary drivers of the two 15-team league configuration.

Agreed. This is insane. I wish that the players' union would put language into the CBA that banned this sort of thing.

An increase of 1 game vs each team in the division is BS.

S13, my guess is that that was done because the league had 4 games (per team) that it had to find something to to with in the schedule. And assuming that the rest of the schedule is relatively balanced, the easiest thing to do was probably just add them to the divisional games.

Will we ever open up at home? Every year same thing, open up on the road vs an elite team then visit Toronto. Schedule makers be slacking.

AI, you have to remember that the Sox have a scheduling requirement of having a home game on Patriots Day (at 11am Monday morning) to coincide with the Boston Marathon. That tends to put a crimp on scheduling.

Also, given the nature of weather in Boston that time of year, I don't think that having the home opener a week later is a bad thing.

Personally, I liked it a few years back when the Sox played the Rangers on the road early in April. Much better than facing them on the road in the dreadful heat of July or August. (Of course, this was also before the Rangers had become an elite team in the AL...)

We open up against New York. Hopefully we're improved enough in 2013 to put up a fight there against our biggest rivals.

I'm gonna make a bold prediction here. Boston will go at least 90-72. I mean there's no why they can miss the PO's four years in a row right? right? And if they do make the PO's they will make the AL Championship against either the Rays or Orioles.
