Just so everyone remembers.

2 seasons ago he averaged 16.8 PPG, 8.3 RPG, 2.3 APG, 1.5 SPG while playing with a terrible work ethic & frequently showcasing his immaturity.

If he puts in the work to be coached by Avery Johnson then this is a huge low risk/high reward deal, espescially as a rotation big man.

Punk
09-05-2012, 09:11 PM
Low risk, high reward signing. I like it considering McGee and Young were head cases as well but turned it around on a winning team.

He won't see any minutes ahead of Reggie and Mirza.

IndyHeatjman
09-05-2012, 09:12 PM
So BKN wins the Blatche sweepstakes...even with the "one time" triple double fiasco, he's a talented young big guy. Lots of contenders were hoping to land him, and now nets have continued to add depth...good move.

There is a reason a guy like Blatche was unemployed this late into the summer for those who wish to say this just loads the Nets bench.

I see him as a high risk, medium reward type of guy. He can be a mediocre player that contributes if he grows up, or he can be a total poison to the locker room potentially screwing up the BRK Nets.

29$JerZ

I disagree with the low risk high reward line.
He is high risk. Maybe seeing how he was almost jobless makes him change his attitude and buy into the team.

Decent signig considering what little money they have to work with.
Very concerning to see a guy like him getting paid to stay away from Washington, he must really be a problem.

I don't think Blatche is a risky signing at all. No minimum player is. What is weird is that the Nets don't really need him. At this point of his career he is kind of a poor man's version of that Euro they signed this offseason. I don't even think he will get any minutes for the Nets.

Hump is your only legit defensive front court player.
Reggie is decent given his size. I never saw Blatche as a defensive player in Washington even though he should be given his length.

It's a really sorry front court on defense. Brooklyn I assume is just going to try an out score their opponent because they honestly don't have much defense on that team.

Report: Blatche-Nets deal not finalized yet
http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/nba/0/basketball-headlines?r=1

Updating a previous item, Andray Blatche's deal with the Nets has not been finalized, according to Michael Lee of the Washington Post.

Lee added that two sources close to Blatche said the forward has "yet to make a decision and is also considering an offer from the Miami Heat." This conflicts with Marc Spears' earlier report that Blatche and the Nets have agreed in principle. Both Lee and Spears are two of the most credible sources in the business, so check back for updates on this story.

Losing Harrington isn't a huge deal and Iggy is an upgrade over Afflalo in every way except for shooting the 3 ball.

When a player is injury prone, as Brook has shown himself to be, you dont "add" him every time you get him back because odds are you will lose them at some point again. Evans and Watson are bench players, if not for Rose going down Watson never would have gotten the opportunities he did. I'm sick of hearing that he was a starter so don't even bring that argument.

Brook played 3 straight 82 game seasons before getting injured last season (which I still attribute to his working out with Hakeem). I wouldn't call that injury prone.

But I guess every player who has suffered an injury shouldn't be counted as a starter, so Lakers didn't actually acquire a starting Center in Dwight.

And not exactly sure what you are saying about CJ Watson, but the addition of him, Reggie and Mirza certainly deepens the Nets bench.

Watson has proved he's a great back up for many years, not sure what you're getting at. And honestly, are you serious with the Brook is injury prone thing? Why don't you go look how many games he has missed prior to last season.

wtf. I expect Denver to be top 4 in the West. Brooklyn is looking at 5th overall. Boston and New York in the top top 4.

Western top 4 > Eastern top 4 any day. though East has the best team

that is because the west is getting weaker and the east is getting stronger... but if denver was on the east there'll be 5th tops , hell even 6

You have to be kidding. I mean, the west has gotten slightly weaker, but the east is still far behind. Denver is a better team than NY, Philly, Brooklyn, or Atlanta for instance.

Well, he is a cancer, but he can sure score when he was motivated. Solid signing for the bench, Nice depth move thats about it.
Depth is what they need. I think he could be a key player if he can bring himself up from "knucklehead" status and really start playing to his full potential.

Good move for the minimum contract. No risk, potentially high award

I read somewhere that the Blatche deal is not done, and that he is still considering signing with Miami.

I think it was from the WashingtonPost.

They still need to defend as a team but they are going to be able to light up the scoreboard for sure. If they can defend even at an average pace they will be a tough team to face.

They have guys on the bench Brooks, Teletovic, and now Blatche who can light it up off the bench. I think they might have one of the best scoring benches in the league (on paper that is).
