The Best Minimum Salary Signing of the offseason
August 29 at 10:25pm CST By Chuck Myron

Players generally see the minimum salary as a last resort, but sometimes quality contributors will take a voluntary paycut if they're especially eager to join a team that's short on available cash. Usually these teams are contenders who get an added boost from a title-hungry player who goes down as a bargain, but sometimes a player just thinks a certain team is the right fit, and is willing to give up a chance for better money elsewhere.

There have already been dozens of minimum salary signings, with plenty more surely to come. Let us know which of these players below is the best minimum salary signing of the offseason. If you have someone else in mind, vote for that option and let us know who it is in the comments.

Delonte West, Mavericks 5.56% (16 votes) [$1,223,166]

Antawn Jamison, Lakers 67.01% (193 votes) [$1,352,181] Coz weve got the greatest GM in the world

Rashard Lewis, Heat 17.01% (49 votes) [$1,352,181]

Ronnie Brewer, Knicks 7.29% (21 votes) [$1,069,509]

Someone Else 3.13% (9 votes)

Total Votes: 288

Kinda helps that the other 4 guys are role players on their respective teams, while Jamison gets to platoon between 3-4.

Jamison and Brewer hands down.

Brewer has really lost a few steps from his Utah days. Remember when he was traded from the Jazz to the Grizz and I think he tore his hamstring in his first game as a Grizzly?

The following offseason he signed with the Bulls when his former Jazz buddies Korver and Boozer joined them in the summer of 2010, but he never really had a great impact the last 2 yrs.

On a side note, didn't Orlando sign Et'twann Moore today. Knowing how they have basically nothing, we might see a MIP lol

Jamison by far, very underated signing, he still plays at a high level offensively. An dhe turned down a much better offer from Charlotte to play for the Lakers.

I think Jamison is. The Lakers have a starter coming off the bench now. I think he could start on at least half the team in the NBA? He's always been underrated...

I consider him a Luol Deng type player. A player you don't have to run plays for and still gets his numbers. He'll back up World Peace and Gasol and he maybe should even start over World Peace?

Brewer is the correct choice IMO but I can see Antawn shoving that **** in my face if he starts bombing 3's in LA.

Still, do Laker fans actually believe they are signing these players because their GM is highly skilled? LOL WTF

You're saying wtf? You just said Brewer is a better deal than Jamison. LOL

Yea but Im only saying WTF to the notion that the Lakers are getting these guys because of their great GM, when in reality any dunce would be able to bring talent to a franchise as glamorous as the Lakers.

Jamison. I'd love Jamison to be at the 4 next to Bynum. Instead we're paying Hawes 6m for that privilege.

Brewer or Jamison.

Both are really good signings, as well as fill a need.

Brewer is a very good defender, don't see how he has lost a step or two.

brewer is a starter, jamison is a role player, brewer fills holes in the knicks while jamison beefs up a droolworthy team, its a hard call imo

Knicks fans are in for a surprise when they get to actually watch Brewer play, rather than oogle at advanced stats in the off-season. Annnd the CJ Watson signing isn't anything to get wet over either, dudes a chuck that gets hot once every 20 games.

Jamison signing by quite a bit, the man puts up good numbers on awful teams but he is a vet that can shoot from the sides consistently, which will work well with the facets of the Princeton offense that are being introduced.

I actually thought the Delonte West deal was very underrated. He played well last year.

I think it goes to Jamison who's very productive even at this point in his career. He will fit and excel as the sixth man. brewer is an ok signing a lil overrated in my eyes. Delonte West is a somos pick up and uhh Lewis il wait and see what he can do for the heat

Its between Brewer and Jamison. Im more inclined to go with Brewer cause its my team. But knicks needed brewer more than the lakers needed jamison.

Rashard lewis is a good signing for the price but i cant see him playing much especially behind Lebron, Battier, Bosh,
