Who is guy? Why is he playing so well for the Dodgers? I smell something funny.

it's unsustainable, he was a mediocre minor leaguer who will be figured out shortly

He has like a .260 career MINOR league BA for like 10 years and a .220 career BA in the Bigs. He was smacking Bumgarner all over the place the other night.

He'll come back down to Earth sooner or later.

I'm not sure but I think the OP was trying to hint at that.

But in reality, like most people have said, he will get figured out soon.

Or maybe he has figured it out?? It takes a while sometimes for people. Plus, he has always been a really good fielder, that's no surprise. But the hitting i think can be explained by his batting stance. Vin was talking during a telecast recently that the Padres and Pirates both wanted him to have a closed stance at the plate and he didn't like that. When he came to the Dodgers they let him open his stance and now he is mashing the ball.

usually that is true.

But occasionally there is a player that is better in the big leagues than they were in the minors.

But it is very rare, usually it's just a hot streak (couple of months).

Who is the real Trevor Plouffe for example?

Why is this a thread?

Because Melky Cabrera used PED's.

hell look at hanley, he never hit more than 8 home runs in the minors comes up and is bashing 30+ in an extreme pitchers park

Because Melky Cabrera used PED's.

We've had a lot of trouble without him the past couple days.

Hanley hit 30 once (08) and Marlins park was a neutral offensive ball park for home runs.

There was no reason to assume that the 20 year old shortstop that weighed 160 pounds should be limited to 8 home runs in 400 PA.

But yes, he is a decent example, even though he was called up at 21.

Stop with the PED hinting. Remember Brett Pill last year? He hit well, but his true colors are coming out now. I'm sure he'll regress back to normality.

On the MLB page it cuts off the end of the name of the thread, so it says
"Luis Cruz Coming out of..."
It made me wonder until I clicked the thread.

Mike Fontenot was also a first round draft pick.
