39-83, thats terrible. Besides for the 2003 Tigers (43-119), are the Astros having the worst season in recent baseball history? What were some other really bad years for teams in recent history?

define recent.

Obviously the Tigers in 03 are the worst though

The Stros of this season could do better than they finished last season

Who on the Astros really gets you excited? The team is bad and their record shows it.

Recent, like post 1970.

And yeah, Tigers definitely had the worst.

Seasons with at least 107 loses

04 D'Backs - 111
03 Tigers - 119
99 Marlins - 108
97 Tigers - 109

Since I don't know what you mean by recent, it is going to be hard to be worse than the 03 Tigers.

The Cleveland Spiders are the worst baseball team ever though (probably), going 20-134 in 1899

They're doing a great job of achieving their goal: the #1 pick and biggest budget to prepare them for the AL.

i remember hearing about the tigers being terrible in 03. i was 8 then, so the only thing i really remember is the nets going to the finals and the yankees going to the world series.

Cleveland turned it around during the 90's didn't they? I remember they had some decent teams with a couple of good players.

And that's one record that will never be eclipsed. Some notable Spider stats:

Their ace won 4 games.

One pitcher lost 22 games and one lost 30.

They drew a little over 6,000 fans FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON.

They drew so poorly that other teams refused to come to their park, forcing them to play "home" games on the road.

They finished 84 games out of 1st place.

Only 2 future 500 HR players and the only 50 HR 50 2B player in history. Tons of good steroids on that team.

Blue jays 2012

"Most unlucky" and "worst" are two completely different things. I know you weren't being serious because this isn't even the worst Jays team in recent memory.
