For a 1 year run, which would you put more faith in.

Team Oldies

PG: Jason Kidd (Now)

SF: Ron Artest (Now)
PF: Ben Wallace (Cleveland days)
C: Shaq (Cleveland days)

Team Youngsters

Young guys. Neither team would be that much of a threat IMO but the old guys would struggle big time.

Weird choices for teams. You should have picked all current players for the "old players." Guys like Jason Kidd not Gary Payton.

Young but put Jordan, Kobe, or Duncan in the oldies and that could make it interesting.

Something like:

Nash
Billups
Pierce
Dirk
Camby

VS

Kyrie
Harden
Paul George
Ibaka
Cousins

might be a bit better of a debate

lol them old *** nikkas wouldnt win **** lol. Even the newbies on Jamal's list would have a tough time.. Harden would **** on billups, Cousins would **** on Camby. The forward spot easily goes to the old team though so that might could win it.

that old squad put together is awful, Artest is a good defender but cant shoot, JKidd is done, Ray is a good spot up shooter at this point in his career, Shaqs was a solid center when he was healthy & Ben Wallace was a joke wit the Cavs

Teams full of young cats tend to suck without veterans rounding out the roster. I'd take the oldies by a hair.

I'd go with Phoenix Shaq over Cleveland Shaq.

THis is a way better debate. But have to give it to vets on this one. Dirk and Pierce = guaranteed scoring. Although they might get killed inside with Kyrie and Cousins, cause Nash nor Camby can play defense.

Gerald Green is talented?

Talented yes, just hasnt put it all together.

I think I should have Javale as the Center

Both suck.

Just put the current Lakers lineup and the current Thunder lineup

Jason Kidd (now)
Jordan (Wizards)
Tracy McGrady (now)
Elton Brand (now)
Shaq (Cleveland days)

John Wall
Evan Turner
Rudy Gay
Derrick Favors
Joakim Noah

would be interesting..in that case id take the oldies haha

Not trying to make a debate, just hoping someone would dare to choose the old team and explain why.

This post was inspired by the numerous times JB has cited Shaq and Ben as tremendous teammates even in their advanced age, yet no one here would take them over a crew of youngsters.

Since when was Ben Wallace a PF in Cleveland? or ever for that matter?
If you have footage of Ben Wallace and Shaq on the court at the same time in Cleveland, I'd like to see it.

Change the PF spot to a real PF like Elton Brand (NOW), and Shaq (Phoenix) I'd take the older team.

PG: Nash
SG: Allen
SF: Pierce
PF: Dirk
C: KG

Ben started beside Big Z in 08-09 whenever the two of them were healthy enough. Ben is a short C who, in his later years, wasn't nearly as imposing at C with his increasing lack of athleticism.

Shaq started beside Hickson for much of his time in Cleveland in 2010.

Ben Wallace was useless as a Cav, and Shaq had declined severely. Those guys are the basis of the argument but Artest, Kidd, and Ray are also role players at best.

we could go over 30 vs under 30s. I think that's a more fair assessment.

over 30's

Nash/ Billups
Kobe/Wade/Ray Allen
Pierce/Wallace
KG/Duncan/Jamison
Dirk/Gasol/ Camby

Kind of arbitrary don't you think? Ben played one of the bigs spot, probably mostly at the 5 but he manned the 4 with Z.

Shaq and Ben were traded for each other.

Ben has usually played both throughout his career I think

That old team sucks lol. I guess I'd go with the young team. Don't think either would be much of a threat though.

Proven Winners. However having Anthony Davis makes it close.

Use Rashard Lewis and Hedo and Rafer and Courtney Lee.

Have those old, proven winners already won some championships? If they've won one in the last two years or two in the last four years, I'll probably go with them. If they haven't proven their winning ways that much, I'll take the talented youngsters who still have something to prove.

The old team is complete **** and would be like as bad as the Bobcats unless Ray Allen can score 28ppg. So new team.

If it's for a one year run, I'd take the old team, but if I'm building for the future I'd take the young team... but trading Wall would be the first thing on my agenda!

I would love going into the playoffs with a starting five like this:

PG: Nash
SG: Allen
SF: Pierce
PF: Garnett
C: Duncan
