Actually, now thinking about it, there may be one guy who we're overlooking. A guy who has a new reprised role in Philly as THE MAN, Doug Collins will get him all his precious touches and shot attempts, and really, the East is weak with big men, so a candidate for the scoring title, if he gets his touches and shot attempts is....

Andrew Bynum.

Yeah well you don't have to score 30+ ppg anymore to win scoring titles, you can get away with averaging around 28 ppg, which KD did last yr. Kobe's past his prime, AI's no longer in the NBA, the supermega killer scorers of this league are basically done. That era is over IMO, and I don't view KD in the scoring prowess of a Mike, Kobe, AI, West, Baylor, Wilt group. He's talented, and sometimes very efficient, but I wouldn't call him as killer prolific.

i would go with durant but he has to share the ball with westbrook and harden ... if stat does show his old self again, carmelo could chuck all game if wanted too..

I'd put my money on Durant. LBJ could easily lead the league in scoring though, but, like Magic Johnson, though he can score at will, he knows that basketball is a team sport and that it's more important to get other players involed, so he shares the ball. I'm not saying that Durant doesn't share the ball, but when the ball goes to Durant, it's a play for Durant to score.

So, again, I see Durant winning it, but I still think LBJ is a better scorer than Durant, but is very close and is a better shooter than James.

I see Westbrook challenging Durant more for shots.

If this happens especially the way last year ended expect some changes to be made.

This whole post is pure bliss. I agree too he's not nearly as prolific as them though he's more efficient. Not nearly as explosive as a scorer as the players you mentioned in your post above. Kd is not even on the level as a scorer as kobe was when he dropped 60 on the trailblazers or iverson when he dropped 55 on the hornets in the Playoffs.

No-brainer. It has to be Durant.

LeBron could win it pretty much every year though if he wanted to focus on just scoring. I don't see anyone else close. It's Durant with LeBron being the darkhorse.

I think Lebron could average 35ppg on 50% shooting if he wanted to, but he won't.

Durant is the easy answer.

Melo is a sleeper, he averaged 28ppg in NY playing with Billups. With Kidd & Felton his scoring should go up alot this year.

If Westbrook becomes more of an offensive force, and Melo puts up 28-29ppg, I could see that winning it.

I think Lebron is the best player in the league but I think those stats will be impossible to obtain, and i don't think he can have a better season then last year I mean what he averaged 27-7-7 with like 53% shooting? Damn

At best this year I can see him get 29-8-7 I don't think he'll be as efficient though he'll be around the 48-51% area though

I don't see Melo being able to catch Durant. Melo will prob go 27 at best this year IMO. Amare will be back to being more then a 17 Point scorer.

name one of the top scorers that couldnt win scoring title every year. You could of said that about kobe, durant, melo, iverson, tmac, lebron, and probably a few others.
