View Full Version : Kinda OLD but CRAZY story of treatment of Reporters by Team

On Nov. 24, a little before noon, 16 bleary-eyed reporters shuffled into a tiny interview room a few feet away from the Madison Square Garden basketball floor. It had ivory cinder-block walls and dim fluorescent lighting that didn’t recall a media workspace so much as it did a detention cell.

They were attempting to interview the Knicks’ religiously evasive head coach Isiah Thomas, who informed them, after a contentious exchange, that they indeed had the right to criticize the team.

Afterward, the reporters complained about what they viewed as a patronizing lecture. One called him a “psycho.” It was, in all respects, a typically bitter start to a day in the life of a New York Knicks beat reporter.

pretty crazy read kinda sucks to be them

Why post something that happened almost half a decade ago?

Way to make 2007 sound like the stone ages. I get it Knicks fans dont want this open. It's still relevant tho because they still treat their reporters this way as Isola and Beck have stated many times.

yeah, instead of saying "read it", you should have just answered. Maybe he wants to hear your opinion on it.

Quite honestly, what do these reporters want? a 5 star hotel? Who cares if the place where they have this "interview" is in a room that has cinderblock walls and doesn't have the best lighting. The inside of the gyms/halls are usually cinder block, but most (not all) are painted.

I don't consider it bad treatment to hold the interview in some aesthetically bad looking room.

What do they want, a one on one meeting at the Hilton?
