Good news for the 76ers. With the addition of Bynum they could be a darkhorse in the East next year.

I really hope he has tons of success in Philly and that if he is true to his statements that he can be an anchor in Philly for x amount of years he's there.

:cheer:
To health and success big Bynum!

Although, I hope any success he experiences falls short of a championship. :P

Heck no! :p

But yeah our city has a bank. And it's close to home for him, and we already LOVE him. And we're the #5 market in America. And can offer him an extra year and 25 mil. He'll be a Sixer for a while.

Well, they ahve the birds, so they can offer him the bigger paycheck and then there he will be "the man" wich is what he wanted.
ITs a young up and coming team.
Why wouldnt he want to stay?
Doubt he wants to play second fiddle again to Dirk for example.

Laker fan here, congrats philly fans, you got yourselves the 2nd best center in the ENTIRE league. He was a monster on the lakers and that was as the 3rd option behind Kobe and Gasol. Now he's gonna be your #1 option, what Bynum always wanted, to be the #1 and be allowed to destroy w/out having kobe and gasol before him. man im excited for him and you guys.

I'll buy the NBA TV package this year just to watch bynum destory the East on tv this year. Pumped!!

There is a lot of time for that to change obviously, but since it seems all Bynum cares about is cash, that puts Philly in a great spot.

"Philly will just have to roll the dice" - Dwight Howard if we would have traded for him.

Plus we have plenty of handicapped parking spots, so Bynum will be even more at home.

hahahah Sixerlover just made me choke on and spit out my water in the middle of my office... So true.

No need for the hate drose. The majority of Philly fans are passionate, knowledgeable fans who demand excellence from their players. Are we unfair at times? Heck yeah, but that is more tied to the fact that the few championships our teams have won are few and far between. We have our best big man since Barkley left town, so let us celebrate a little without unnecessary hate.

There are plenty of Philly fans who suck, but by the same token there are plenty of Chicago fans who suck just as bad. Unfortunately because your post, I have to lump you into the later category there.

I think he would extend right now for the 3 years so he can max out the money he can make for his career. His knees suck so i don't think he want's to risk another year of playing on a 1 year contract (Lakers had a team option on him last year). If he goes the 3 year rout, he will be under contract for 4 more years and will be a free agent again when he is about to be 29, then he can sign another Max contract for 5 years. If he waites to sign until the end of the season he will sign a 5 year deal making him almost 31 when he is a free agent and I don't think a 31 year old Center that is 7'1'' 28k lbs that has been in the NBA for 13 years is getting a 5 year max deal. I say there is a shot you see Bynum take the 3 years just to max his career out and not have to worry about money if his knee goes out again.

PHI will be an interesting team for years to come. I like a lot of their players (Jrue Holiday, Evan Turner, LaVoy Allen). Add Bynum to the mix and your future is as bright as the sun. Congrats Philly fans......

Was at the press conference today. I was really really nervous on what Bynum was going to say to all the questions but he ended up saying all the right things. Makes me think he was trolling the LA media a lot of times because he wasn't in the spot light. I highly doubt LA fans ever cheered Andrew Bynum's name. We were basically blowing this guy today lol.

Hoopsworld and stephen a smith both have reported that Bynum will resign unless something drastic happen. Similar to Chris Paul with the clippers, philadelphia was given reassurance about being able to sign bynum.

David aldridge also said he believes Bynum will resign.

I was a Laker for 7 years, I want to be a 76er longer

Dwight said that too? If he wasn't re-signing he wouldn't consistently bring it up and talk about how much he likes being close to home and wanting to stay. He'd just deflect the question with "too early to tell" or "we'll see how it plays out" like 90% of stars nowadays

Dwight opted in when he said he wanted out a million times...

All im saying is don't bring your hopes up. He said he wanted to test Free agency and he just might. I hope he stays in Philly cause that would be great for the city of Philly and basketball but I wouldn't bet my house on it.

Note he could blow out his knees and be done for his career and I would still not fault the organization for signing him long term...IT HAS TO GET DONE...Anyone saying other wise is just wrong... Every team in the league not named the lakers would go after this guy if they had the money period.
