Which player do you think would get a quadruple double first, Lebron or Rondo?

Another potential candidate: Dwight.

Points and rebounds already given. He can get 10 blocks, and with this team of shooters and finishers around the rim (Meeks, Jamison), and 3 other all-stars in Kobe, Nash and Pau, he can get 10 assists.

On second thought, i can see Howard doing Triple doubles of points, rebounds and blocks....can he take the 10 asists too? thats the question.

Javale Mcgee probably does in his own head... cause he thinks a QD would be 2pts-2rbs-2Turnovers-2technicals lol

Probably Rondo. Maybe Dwight, as the :dance:er said, that team has some great shooters around him.

Lebron's massive frame kinda keeps him from those surprise steals that some PGs get... I think most players realize if there's a 6-9 275 freak of nature nearby lol

His career high is not far from Rondo's though, who's arguably the best PG at those surprise steals.

Now that lebron dropped the pressure of winning a chip, quadruple doubles are easy

IKnowHoops
08-15-2012, 03:04 AM
I dont think either can do it. David Robinson is the last person to do it with pts/reb/asst/blocks. I think whoever does it has to get 10 blocks. I dont see 10 steals. I think David is one of four people to ever have the quad double. I wouldnt be surprised if every person to do it was a center. Dwight to me has the best shot. But really it aint happening. It really takes a very big, athletic, skilled player to do it, and dwight is not very skilled.

lebron def has a shot, but i think rondo might be the first because lebron shares the ball with wade and pg, while rondo is THE undisputed ball handler for the celtics, so the dimes would be consistent, as would his steals, cos he lives in the passing lanes.

as for rubio.. LOL rubio plays no defense so stop.

i would say rondo and maybe john wall..

he used to get like 7 steals per game before his injury.

Rondo, John Wall or Dwight.

Thats my candidates.

PG: Rondo, Wall
SG: Kobe (younger Kobe), Wade, Igaduala (?)
SF: LeBron
PF: Love, Gasol (problems with blocks and steals, but can easily get 10 Assists)
C: Dwight, Bynum (already had a game with 10 blocks)

I don't think anybody currently in the league has a game geared toward a quadrouple double. James is a good defender, but only one person has managed to get a 4D game with steals, and James will not be getting double digits in blocks anytime soon.

Dwight could get a 3D game with blocks, but he is a horrid passer and I don't think he will ever sniff get into double digit assists.

Rondo likely has the best shot at it, but like I said, it's only been done with steals once, and a double-digit steal game is a once in a career night. Rubio also has potential to pull it off.

Good question though.

RLundi
08-15-2012, 08:17 AM
Dwight can do it, especially if he sees a steady diet of double teams in the post.

I also think Rondo and LBJ could too, but 10 steals is difficult to do...

Andrew32
08-15-2012, 08:30 AM
I don't see Dwight ever getting 10 assists.
Has he ever gotten 5 assists before?

For all his strengths he is one of the most naturally untalented passers I have ever seen.
Maybe Nash can teach him to pass better, lol.

Rondo could probably do it but 10 steals is a pretty rare feat... not sure if I see that happening.

Kashmir13579
08-15-2012, 08:44 AM
I think there are a few PGs capable of doing this.. And Lebron.

IndyRealist
08-15-2012, 09:14 AM
Roy Hibbert could probably do it if our perimeter players could hit their jumpers. He modeled his game after Duncan. But that'd be once in a lifetime for him, he's not as strong a passer as Tim.

FraziersKnicks
08-15-2012, 09:23 AM
Dwight is an awful passer and really struggles passing out of the double team. He had a team STACKED with shooters in Orlando, pretty much completely built around him so he could kick it out when doubled and his career high is 7 assists... Over 7 years. There is no way he could get to double digits, especially with the offense no longer going through him. And to do it whilst also getting 10 blocks? Absolutely no chance.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Chris Paul. If you wanna go on career highs, he's on one steal away from a career high's quadruple double with 9. More likely than Rondo in my opinion. John Wall is another viable option as. In the 6th game of his career he had a 19/10/13/6 game, and had 9 steals in the second game of his career (to go along with 29 points, 13 assists but only 2 rebounds). Josh Smith has a career high's quadruple double with points, rebounds, assists and blocks (and nearly steals with 7).

So in my opinion:

1. Chris Paul
2. Josh Smith
3. John Wall
4. Rajon Rondo
5. LeBron James

Rondo carreer high in steals: 8
LeBron carreer high in steals: 7 Blocks: 5

Andrew Bynum carreer high in blocks: 7 (don't know when he had 10 blocks as someone has mentioned) assists: 6

I think Josh Smith has more chance, but I think it won't happen so soon again. He is the only active guy who actually have games with 10+ in 4 categories (Kirilenko also has, but it's from a long time ago)

I always thought Duncan in his hayday would get at least one of those.

Its too late for him.

Pau/howard/Smith can get the 20 points and rbounds but the 20 assits is a bit too much.

Rondo/rubio wont get the rebounds.

Yep is almost imposible.

Maybe Lebron?

I would say maybe in his Cleveland days, but I don't think so now. The rebounds are the main thing for me. I know he's come close as a Heat to 20 rebounds... but his team has some good rebounders in Bosh, Wade, Haslem, Anthony etc.. Since they are likely going to be focusing on getting a center who can defend/rebound (E.g. when they went after Marcus Camby), I actually think his rebounding numbers are going to drop a little.

I think he could post 20-20 in points/assists though. Just find Ray Allen parked beyond the 3 point line, everytime those triple teams come :D

I think really the only player in the NBA that I can see getting the quad double is Rajon Rondo. Points, rebounds, assists, and steals. Realistically, he has the best chance.

LeBron isn't the pickpocket type of steal man. He'll step in lanes and intercept passes or come on a timely double team. Not really 10 opportunities per game for that. Same goes for blocks. He's more the chasedown type, and most teams won't have 10 fast breaks against Miami all game.

Dwight Howard is not a good enough passer to accomplish it. Ditto Ibaka.

Josh Smith is a freak athlete, and did have a near 5,5,5,5,5 game last year, but 5,5,5,5,5 is VERY different than 10,10,10,10. Highly unlikely, but certainly wouldn't rule him out with his athleticism.

Chris Paul probably won't get the rebounds with Blake and DeAndre, but I sure can see him getting 10 steals in a game. Ditto for Rubio with Love.

I can actually see Kyrie Irving getting up there as well in all categories. Not a horrible rebounder. Good on ball defender. Great scorer and passer. If a few bounces go his way, especially on a Cavs team with no dominant rebounder, then you never know.
