View Full Version : 5th Annual PSD Player Rankings #7 PF In The NBA? (Volume: V)

Mile High Champ

Hey guys, Some of you may remember that for the last four years I have conducted a poll at the end of the season that had PSD users vote for the top 10 players at each position. The season is now over and the Heat have been crowned NBA champs which means its time to kick off the off-season player rankings.

A lot has changed since last season. Lebron was labelled by some as Choke Artist in the clutch and now this year had one of the greatest finals performances in recent memory. Let start the discussion since lots has changed since the start of last season. Please TRY AND VOTE FOR THE BEST PLAYER AND DON'T BE A HOMER. I will leave the poll open for one day and than we can carry on to the next best player at that position. I will add more players after each round. I have also included the results of those last 4 years so everyone can see how much things have changed...Enjoy.

REMEMBER this is based on who is the best player, not the player who has the potential to be the best

5 through 1 are interchangeable to be honest. I'd actually still have Pau above Love. He's a far more complete two way player and does a lot of little things right that just kill opponents (and that includes Love every time they match up. Lakers are 13-0 against them in Love's tenure and Pau's stats crush Love). Love's great, he just doesn't quite have the bball IQ high enough to compete fully effectively against a player as skilled+smart as Pau.

Voted Ibaka and then completely forgot about J-Smoove.

If I could change my vote to Smith, I would. But don't think that will be necessary here, J-Smoove should win in a landslide regardless.

Goin for Amare..

Josh Smith's a 20/10/4 per-36 player who lead the league in Defensive Win Shares and had his highest USG% + lowest turnover% of his career; Also put up 17/14/5 in the playoffs with the leagues lowest Defensive Rating (93), despite his weak shooting. He's easily the right choice here.

Amare? That was the worst season of his career and I'm not sure we can expect a rebound as he enters his 30's.

If anything Josh Smith is underrated, he and Al were always the two best players on that team but Joe Johnson got all the attention.

Millsap
Lee
Ilyasova

Definitely better than Amare.

People keep saying Z-BO, but he played 28 games for the Grizzles this season averaging 11.6 and 8, on 463% shooting and 66% shooting from the line. Oh and he's also a pretty horrendous defender. So he wasn't better than Amare this season.

all time? Sure. Love averaged 30-14 against the Lakers this season. Lumping their all time head to head is unfair, Gasol has been at his peak since Love entered the league, Love is just now scratching his prime.

As for this one, its in the air between a few guys. I went ZBo

ZBo should easily make top 5, injury shouldnt effect how good your skill set is

Amare is top 10. You act like the man was the worst player. 17 and 8 on a down year isnt bad. I think Zbo should go here but looks like Smith has it.

True.

I don't understand people mentioning Zbo. He did worse than Amare

but as mentioned, look at his averages. Not only was he injured after a while, but when he did play, he played horrendously.

just cuz he's playing doesnt mean he wasnt injured the whole year, ZBo never looked 100% this past year
