have so many profesional players on it(most of the All Stars from the NBA)? I thought you couldn't get wages and be in the Olympics?

The NBA MUST do everything it can to eliminate flopping from the game. Sitting here watching Rudy Fernandez flop around like a 10yr old girl is so damn annoying. This isn't soccer..MAN UP

The Olympics are an international competition not amateur. The US just used to treat it as amateur, most other countries use their professionals and always have as far as I know.

Most Olympic athletes are professionals except gymnastics, swimmers, and track n' field (the sports Americans watch the most).

That flop Chris Paul did on the Gasol screen was flopping at its finest.

A lot of flopping, it was pretty hard to watch at times. Argentina was especially difficult.

They changed the rules for that quite a while ago, I think the last time team USA wasn't made out of NBA players was in the early 80s. If I remember right it had something to do with Russian Olympians getting paid to train for the Olympics thanks to government funding, and there wasn't anything the Olympic committee could do about it so they changed the rules to allow for professionals to play. You're about 30 years late with this question though.

It would be a shame if something happened to team USA'a plane.
