Lifelong 6er fan here, but been following my regional team here in NorCal, the Kings the past few years. Needless to say, I am stoked the 6ers got Bynum! But all I keep hearing is that the 6ers got the "2nd best center in the league"?

As a Kings fan too, this stopped me dead in my tracks because DeMarcus Cousins came into his own last season and put up some monster numbers in stretches once Smart took over the coaching reigns.

So I pose the question to PSD, who is the 2nd best center in the NBA?

Cousins or Bynum?

Both averaged 18 ppg and 11 rpg last season.

Right now it is Bynum followed by Marc Gasol.

Cousins has all the talent in the world to be in that discussion for top 3-4 Center. He just has to get his head on right.

He's got to take the mental step forward and mature as a player.

Bynum it's not even that close. I think Cousins is a beast, but we've seen Bynum w/ restrictions, being held back, honestly I think people are sleeping on Bynum. By the end of this year he will be the best C in the east.

He already is the best center in the East.

Bynum is still far ahead of Cousins. Cousins has range and athleticism on Bynum, and that's it.

Cousins needs to continue to improve his efficiency and he can get up there no problem with Howard/Bynum.

MHC's poll will answer this question and yes the answer is Bynum. He's also arguably a top 15 player in the league as well. Cousins provides solid offense and great rebounding and is only going to continue improving in those areas IMO but until he develops himself on the defensive end of the floor he wouldn't reach that #1/2 status.

I don't think Cousins is even top 3.. No offense, he's good and he's up-and-coming as well. He has the potential to fight for that spot with Bynum, and eventually Monroe.

It's bynum by a wide margin if you think cousins deserves to be in that conversation just because he put up 18 and 11 last year then I guess my boy David lee is top five since he put up 17 and 10 I'm just kidding about that last part ofcourse my point is to be considered one of the best centers in the league it takes more than being a scorer and getting a few rebounds you have to be able to play defence until you can do that you can be concidered one of the better scoring centers not one of the best centers in the game

So if Bynum isn't the best C in the East once he joins Philly who is?

Let's see here
Chicago has Noah....nope
Detroit has Monroe and Drummond.....nope
Indiana has Hibbert.....getting warmer but still no
Toronto has Valanciunas....even being a homer I know that isn't happening for another 3-5 years if ever

Who else is a legit C? Horford should be playing the 4 but is definitely solid at covering the 5. I can't really think of anyone else in the East.

I honestly think Cousins' upside is scary good. Once that guy gets his mental on the floor straightened out and starts playing D at a semi decent level he's going to throw his name in the hat for best C in the NBA. I don't think he's #3 right now but he is getting there.

Statistically speaking all around I'd say it goes Howard, Bynum the big al. I'm
Merely stating this based off statistics and I'm not talking about just basic box scores
