Does anyone know if Bynum is going to sign an extention or if he is also deciding to become a free agent after the season?

he wont

It makes no sense for him to sign an extension, even if he has 100% intention of staying - so we won't know anything until next offseason, most likely.

Thanks, as a Mavs fan I've never held out hopes that Dwight will be coming to Dallas (there is no way Dwight's leaves L.A.). However I do think that Dallas has a very good shot at signing Bynum in the off season.

According to Adande, Bynum will re-sign. He's also from Jersey so it's close to home here in Philly.

@jadande:Howard a Laker. Bynum will re-sign in Philly. Denver saves $15 million in 2014-15. Only team this wasn't a no-brainer for is...Orlando

@jadande: Someone who know him better than you or I do RT @SSJets_STC: "Bynum will resign in Philly." What's that based on, chief?

Even though I would love for the Mavs to have a shot at Bynum it would still be a long shot considering the Sixers would be able to offer Bynum 1 more year than Dallas and about $25 mil more. After the whole DWill saga I would almost prefer he sign the extention so Mavs fans don't get screwed again.

According to a local radio station. Sixers management wanted Bynum whether he would resign or not.

Philly is as local as it gets for Bynum. I'm sure Sixers will work something out next offseason.

We should be able to resign him. We'll have his bird rights and be able to offer him the extra year.

Why is that?

Because the league revolves around the Heat... You know that.

This has nothing to do with the Heat, yet we of course have to read an annoying Miami pest add his two cents.

No offense Dade County, obviously Heat fans have gotten under my skin a bit the past few years.

Young, talented team on the come up. Big media market, flexibility for the future(we have movable contracts), and we have the ability to offer him the most money, I see no reason why we can't sign him.

Plus Stephen A reported Bynum didn't want to go to Orl., but accepted going to Philly. Why would he accept being traded to us if he has no intention of seriously considering staying?

With a solid supporting cast. If the Sixers could clear some space (Thad/Hawes), they could even add another big piece (Harden, Ibaka, Smith).

Holiday
Harden
Turner
Moultrie/Allen
Bynum

I haven't been this happy as a Sixers fan in a while. :jumpy:

I think he will really enjoy Philly. He has a bunch of rising young players around his age and he is the undisputed star of the team (something he definitely wanted).

Philly completely DESTROYED this deal. Trading Iggy and a protected pick for Bynum and Richardson. greatness from a gm.

Philly did great in this deal as did the Nuggets... the two teams nobody seems to be discussing right now.

Why is that?

Reason...

Bynum has tasted what it feels like to be a champion... People keep saying that all he wants is to be the man and get paid, this might be sure; but who says that he doesn't want all of that and put himself in a situation that he has a very high chance of winning a ring or two.

Bynum might not see the 76ers realistically winning a championship in the next 3yrs... So he might what to see whats out their a test his options, if he finds something better he leaves, if he doesn't he resigns.

Bynum might trust a Owner like Mark Cuban or a coach like Pop ( Spurs ).

I am just saying it is easy for fans to say, he will resign, but you don't no what that player is thinking.

The End

GREATNESS ONE

Bynum is gonna dominate. Philly hope you're ready for Andrews best year as a NBA player. 24-12. Being an hour away from home is a boost and bird rights.

Bynum will resign in Philly.

i hope not only because i want him on my team(though the gm of my team wouldnt take him for free, sadly).but i can see it going either way,he'll be highly sought after so philly is going to have some upgrading to do to show that they're committed to competing

We should be able to resign him. We'll have his bird rights and be able to offer him the extra year.

I exect Dallas to make a big pitch to him however Philly still has the upper hand. The Sixers can offer 1 more year and $25 mil more than Dallas can offer him. I don't think that Philly being close to his home town will play a factor at all (if anything it will work against Philly). If there was any guy that I thought wanted to play in his home town it was DWill. Apparently his mom was getting bombarded with questions about DWill and he did not want to deal with all the people claiming to he his friend in high school asking for tickets. With that being said Philly still has the upper hand.
