Respect: Roy Hibbert flying to Sacramento to meet with dying 12-year-old

Roy Hibbert is flying to Sacramento to meet with a 12-year-old boy whose dying wish was to meet the NBA star. We highly suggest you read this article.

Via Mike Wells, Indianapolis Star
Diagnosed with stage four leukemia six months ago, Lee has been told he might only have a couple of weeks left to live. So Hibbert has planned a special surprise. Later this week, he is flying to Sacramento to meet Lee. "Once I heard he had a dying wish, I knew I had to do something more than send him presents and Skype with him on the computer," Hibbert said.

Hibbert also plans to have his mouth swabbed to see if he's a bone marrow match.

Terms: Indiana Pacers, Roy Hibbert

there actually are alot of athletes like him we just always tend to see or read the negative because thats whats put out there.
my brother is in the process of his bone marrow transplant after two bouts with rhabdomyasarcoma a rare type of muscle cancer and right now hes actually cancer free and i was his bone marrow match.
along the way hes met some great athletes alot of them attended rutgers brian leonard from the cincinatti bengals has done alot for him along with others.
these players have such an impact on kids like my brother and to everyone else i urge all of you out there to go get swabbed the transplant was actually really easy and not painful thanks for your time

It would just be crazy if he donated marrow. Hard to believe that would ever happen.

Great stuff on the visit, though, good man.

Yeah right. I'm sure LBJ will give up some of his precious time to make this one kid smile...yeah right.

This was immature.

Sometimes, I wonder if people on ProSportsDaily think before they speak?

Bron isn't the only athlete on the Olympic team. I'm sure Kevin Durant would do it. He's "humble" enough isn't he?

We've had Houston Texans just show up at the children's hospital and not inform the press at all. There are good guys out there.

Good stuff. Not to sound cruel but I wonder why a dying boy in Sacramento's wish was to meet Roy Hibbert? Pacer fan in Sac? G-Town fan?

What was supposed to be an incredible make a wish visit by Roy Hibbert won't happen. Lee Eddins, 12, has passed from leukemia. Horrible.

Its called "levity", people that cant handle a little bit of it in uncomfortable circumstances need to reflect a bit.

We should start trying to find more of these stories. I would much rather read something like that and tear up then have to hear about Dez Bryant punching his mom or needing to pull up his pants. For as much scrutiny these guys are under, these stories deserve to be told and spread.

Agreed and I am sure there are plenty of stories like this.

I remember when I lived in Toronto the Blue Jays players used to go to the Children's hospital quite often. I think this is actually common except the media would rather write negative stories about celebrities.
