View Full Version : All Star Game 1 on 1

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before but if there is one thing we can all agree on is that the All Star games have been getting worse and worse over the years

I believe having a 1 on 1 tournament will be pretty exciting to watch, where players would compete against others of the same position (i.e. PG vs PG) maybe 8 players in each category and losers get eliminated

Half court and they have to clear the ball behind the 3pt arc, first to 11 and win by 2 (each basket is 1 pt)

I think we will see a lot of moves from players that they wouldn't try in an actual NBA game, whether it be good ball handling, or some nice post up moves. This tournament would give players a chance to showcase some stuff and gain the confidence to use these moves in an actual game

Of course I don't expect superstars to participate, seeing that none of them participate in the Slam Dunk contest, but I can envision a lot of young stars and fringe All Stars to be open to the idea

Would be amazing if they did it

Separate guards, forwards, and big men....i would give anything to see some matchups

I think it would a lot more boring than you think, and I also think less players would want to get involved because the idiotic assumptions that would come with losing.

I'd all be for a 2 on 2 tournament with 4 teams, 2 east, 2 west.

they should also have games of 21 that would be cool

I doubt it will happen...

I'd definitely watch it, but not many superstars would want to play because they would get embarrassed if they lost. Might work for youngsters who want to prove themselves though.

Meh. Most of the top players are scared to lose which results to the supposedly tainting their brand.

1on1 would be cool and all but as mentioned before 2 on 2 would be better with east vs west keep the games competitive and not so tiring so the play stays good all the way to 21.
