Portland trades Wesley Matthews (3 years, $6.5 million), Luke Babbitt (2 years, $1.9 million) and cash to Sacramento for Tyreke Evans ($5.2 million, 1 year).
I seems like with the arrival of Marcus Thornton, Sacramento is moving on a bit from having Evans as the focal point in the back court. Trading him to Portland gives Evans a better shot at a more active role in the back court.
Matthews and Babbitt give Sacramento two small forwards, which it seems the Kings need more than another shooting guard. Matthews also shoots better from the outside than Evans, outside shooting being one of his main criticisms.
Portland gets a definite option at shooting guard. Evans and Damian Lillard can both handle the rock on offense as combo guards. Portland also sheds some money for free-agent searching.

unless Portland offers one or two draft picks, don't see the Kings moving Evans. But it makes a lot of sense for Portland and it would be better for Tyreke too
