This is tough. I'd like to give the GMs a chance to respond to the matchups before voting.

Guess BB41 forgot to post my writeup.

First off, congratulations to the Wings on advancing to this round. They have built one heck of a team. May the best team advance.

PG: Kyle Lowry vs. Jeremy Lin - The battle of the young point guards. Lin is more of a scoring point guard, but on a team with Dirk/Gordon, he won't be relied on to score as much. As we saw in real life, Stoudemire scored less when Lin played and who knows what would've happened to Melo's game had they played together. Lowry is a passing point guard that fits perfectly on this team. His ability to score and pass makes him lethal since he has shooters like Melo/Ray on the floor with him.

SG: Ray Allen vs. Eric Gordon - The older vet vs. the young gun. Both play similar style games in the sense that they are both really good shooters. Gordon is bigger, but Ray is the better pure shooter among the two. On this team, Ray will be able to come off screens all day to receive ball. He will be waiting in the corner, and with passing big men like West and Duncan on the team, he will get his shots. The following video will show the main different ways Ray can score. He has plenty left in his arsenal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gi2t-_tJSls

SF: Carmelo Anthony vs. Andre Iguodala - This is the marquee matchup of this series. Iggy brings great defense and Melo brings great offense. I feel like this team has been built around Melo's skills and Melo is at his best when he has the ball in his hands and can create his shot. He will be the primary scorer on this team so he should thrive in that role. In the following video, it shows even with Iggy's tough defense, Melo is just a great scorer to overcome that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MehTaJ4IQcA

PF: David West vs. Dirk Nowitzki - Dirk will be Dirk. He is still one of the best, if not the best, power forward in the league. West is a solid power forward himself and showed in the playoffs that he still has it. He still has the ability to hit the mid range shot as well post down. Him posting Dirk could lead to foul troubles for Dirk. The following video shows West's variety of moves in the paint going up against Pau/Bynum. He will be more than fine doing these moves against Dirk, who has been labeled soft himself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YhmMwQcpi8

C: Tim Duncan vs. Marcin Gortat - At this age, Duncan is not the scorer that he once was. He can still net at least 15ppg, but he is more valuable for his defense. He will be the anchor of our team down low. He will shut down Gortat. Since West can shoot the mid range shot, this will allow Duncan to attract a lot of one on one's with Gortat and he will easily be able to win this matchup. Him being a good passer also helps West, Lowry and Ray to make their games better too. The following video shows Duncan still being able to drive on Gortat at this age. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJZmEd2aR7A. This other video shows Duncan going off in this year's playoffs showing his post moves against Blake. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvjQi9g0DPg.

Bench: The benches are a wash. We both have solid shooters and more than enough defense to spell the guys in the starting lineup. We do however have Jason Terry, former sixth man. When Ray gets a breather, we don't lose much shooting at all since Terry is a great shooter himself. We also have Omer to sub in for Duncan. Omer is known as one of the best young, defensive bigs in the league. His high energy will be key off our bench. To top it off, we have the White Mamba. How can we lose with Scalabrine on the team?

All in all, our well rounded team will overcome adversities and advance. We just have too many shooters and this team is built for Melo's game. We have passing big men to get the ball to the shooters when they get double teamed. In the end, the Soup-A-Stars will move on in 6 games.
