Who do you think will have a better career and will be known as the better center?

Clearly Greg Monroe will have a better overall career in the future. He has a much more polished game and is willing to put in the work in order to be a great NBA player. Demarcus has already peaked.

How has Demarcus peaked? He's still really young and has a lot he can improve on

Monroe. They're both gonna be good but I believe Monroe is more mature.

Monroe. I like Cousins but I think ultimately his attitude will stunt any growth he will have in the league.

I think the Pistons will play Monroe at PF with Drummond at C in the near future so Cousins by default.

Cousins gets more hype, but Monroe is better than him IMO and he doesn't come with any of the baggage that DMC does.

Cousins will have a higher PPG than Monroe and will slightly outrebound him. Monroe is the better shooter, better defender, and better teammate. 3/4 of people will say Cousins and be wrong. Greg Monroe is the better player now, and even if Cousins ends up peaking higher than Monroe it will not be enough to make up for the first 2 or more years where Cousins sucked and Monroe was outstanding.

Cousins sucked last year? News to me. Also, Cousins had a better rebound rate than Monroe this past season. Cousins has a top 5 rebound rate in the NBA.

When he shot 44.8% from the field, turned the ball over a ton and fouled like a maniac, got his coach fired and got into fights with his teammates? Yeah, he sucked. Greg Monroe hit the ground running, Cousins hit the ground face first.

Haha. Someone isn't ready to Boogie and doesn't deserve to.

Also, Paul Westphal got himself fired. He was awful and clashed with multiple players. It was clear the team didn't respect him and stopped playing for him. It wasn't just DeMarcus.

God forbid you let Cousins enter his THIRD season in the league. I mean jeez, he would be a junior in college right now. But i dont think your opinion should be held as valid, considering you think joe johnson is the key to victory according to your sig.

why they are PF's? just because they can shoot?? They should play center just for matchup problems and because the competition there is weak.

Went in on em huh? Lol that's the truth though. But boog kind of reminds me of lebron before losing last season. He feels he's entitled to to greatness. I just hope he wakes up like lebron route and not the a.i. I honestly feel he will be a great center but only when he leaves sac he needs a team with a respected coach and veteran leadership like SA, BOS, NJ off the top of my head.

FOr the sakeof argument, I will call both centers even though they really aren't.

I think Cousins COULD be the better player, but right now I am 50/50 on whethere or not I think he gets his head on straight. if he does, he is the better player. Right now, he falls into the million dollar talent, 10 cent brain catagory. He could be something special if he grows up.

Monroe works hard and is a damn good player. Any team would love to have him and he is a nice piece to the Piston puzzle. Not as high a ceiling, but you never have to worry about him showing up and playing hard.

The only thing keeping Cousins from being a legit all star C in the NBA would be Cousins himself. I'm hoping that he doesn't hold himself back and because of that I'm taking him. Dude's upside is just crazy.

How?

I understand that this thread is about who will be the better center in the long run. Everybody keeps saying Boog has the most upside, but guys dont always live up to their potential so how does this point hold any relevance when its a big IF?

Monroe has proven to be the more efficient offensive player. Boog is the better rebounder but Monroe is not far off in that aspect. Despite being on a bottom ranked defensive team in terms of points allowed per possession, Monroe's individual defensive cred holds up pretty well. Boogie's on a better defensive team and is surrounded by more defensive-minded guys, yet his D still isnt better. So how is DMC better? Because of his potential that he MiGHT live up to? And the fact that he's better at creating his own shot? Psst, it hasnt even helped him yet on offense.

Im not going to say its DMC's attitude thats holding him back. Whatever it is, its getting him outplayed even if its by a small margin. But hey, things can change, especially if you're still in your developing years. So, judging by right now, Monroe looks to have the better career and be the better player in terms of production.

Stop being so technical. He asked whos the better player not whos the better center.

LongIslandIcedZ
07-31-2012, 02:47 PM
I've built my team around Cousins in 2k12. The guy has a lethal jumper and some decent post moves, horrible hook though unless you're right under the basket. Since I've paired with Anthony Davis, he is far and away the most efficient player in the league and second in MVP voting to only Lebron. He's surrounded with rookies and I still have a decent record.

So I vote Cousins. Monroe lost his center spot to Drummond too, I would imagine.

DeMarcus Cousins is the better player overall, although I could see Greg Monroe being the better defensive player.

I think Monroe is the better player now and going forward. The kid is a lot better than people realize. Great passer, rebounder, defender and the offensive game can only get better.
