What's your opinion on who will be most likely to have a breakout year in the NBA?

I say Steph Curry in GSW. Now that Ellis is gone, he should be able to dominate the floor himself.

I like demarcus cousins... He had a very underrated season (at least statistically) though i didn't see a lot of kings games but his stats were mighty impressive..

Other than that maybe kyrie

I fell in love with Kyrie Irving last year. I think we're going to see huge things from him this year with a real training camp and preseason.

I agree with Steph Curry. If he can stay healthy, he should be a very very good PG

He sort of already broke out last year, but as the solidified starter, I'll say Goran Dragic.

This may not count as "breakout" either, but if the Rockets give Royce White the playing time, I think he will turn heads

PG - Stephen Curry, Jeremy Lin, Kyrie Irving, Ty Lawson, Goran Dragic, Kyle Lowry, Ricky Rubio, Damian Lillard
SG - OJ Mayo, Bradley Beal, Dion Waiters
SF - Nicolas Batum, Paul George, Danilo Gallinari, DeMar DeRozan
PF - Anthony Davis, Kenneth Fareid
C - DeMarcus Cousins, JeVale McGee, Nikola Pekovic

I think the breakout performances will be led by point guards. There's a lot of floor generals taking over the reigns of a team for the first time, and others are just settling in as the new main options on theirs.

Donatas Motiejunas, his shot combined with his ability to run the floor and size will make him hard to defend. He has polish from Europe, youth, and American swag.

I'll go with Irving but Curry will be up there with him if he's healthy. Curry's ankle problems have really limited him.

Dragic.

GSWJunkie

Turner won't be able to break out unless they trade Iggy, so no on him. If Iggy's traded I'll refute my remarks.

Curry can't stay healthy so forget him, Klay Thompson is more likely to have a breakout year, and this is coming from a devout, die-hard Warriors/Curry fan. It's just not realistic with his history of re-injuring the ankles time and time again. Plus, Thompson got that great exposure playing for the USA select team and if his numbers after the Ellis trade are any indication of what he can really do, watch out, he may very well end up being our best player. This is all based on potential, of course.

Outside of my team, Kyrie finally has some help, so look out for him. Didn't Rubio break out last year before the injury? I think he did and I don't think he will be able to make that much of a recovery after that severe of an injury, if anything, this year will be far worse than last year and that's if he makes it back in time to play. I really hope he does, because he seems like a great player and we never got a chance to see him because he was gone before our teams competed.

I think Rudy Gay will have a breakout season. He is due to breakout dude can score the rock just needs to play consistent every game.

He's a more athletic version of Melo.

COOLbeans
07-30-2012, 03:06 PM
Yea but he can't shoot like Melo nor can he put the ball on the floor like Melo. And Melo is also a dominant player in the post.

LongIslandIcedZ
07-30-2012, 03:09 PM
Rudy Gay is nowhere near Melo IMO.

I would be shocked if Irving didnt win this year.

WhiteSoxGod
07-30-2012, 04:19 PM
It's going to be Donatas Motiejunas. I just don't know if you can win Rookie of the Year AND Breakout player of the year. If you can it will be D-Mo.

If you can't I believe it will be Omer Asik. Guy is going to get some offensive knowledge from McHale and Hakeem. Asik with offense??? SCARY!!!
