Stefan Bondy: Andrei Kirilenko is not interested in signing with the Nets for vets minimum, according to a source

Emiliano Carchia: Andrei Kirilenko is back to the NBA according to CSKA Moscow’s CEO Andrei Vatutin.

Emiliano Carchia: Andrei Kirilenko confirmed his departure for the NBA: ‘I have talked with Vatutin and I’ve decided that I will continue my carrer in NBA.

I'm going to assume, he's going to Golden State.

While I don't think AK will sign with the Nets, Bondy isn't exactly the best source to rely on.

. RT @NYDNInterNets Nets have not been informed that Kirilenko won't sign with them, according to a source, so maybe this is still alive as a possibility

My thoughts exactly especially given the fact that they missed out on most if not all the FA wing targets.

Exactly what I was talking about above. Bondy is a very odd reporter, he's not reliable, now all of a sudden he's contradicting his prior report.

Pretty sure they got almost as many Wings as the Rockets got PF's.
They Have 7 Wing players. SF/SG.

Well, AK-47's teammate, Shved, just inked a 3 year deal with the Wolves, and they have more money then the Nets. But then again, it's up to AK-47, but he will be fighting for playing time on the Nets, versus probably getting pretty consistent playing time for the Wolves. We will see what he decides.

Does AK still classify as a wing player?

Does AK still classify as a wing player?

well, that is a good point. I think he has been playing more PF for the Russian team over the past year or so. I think he can still guard 3's, but plays a lot interior.

AK is a good player. People just dont understand what he does defensively for teams

I really hope the raptors are inquiring. He'd be a great fit at the 3.

There's not many 3/4's with a skill set like AK's, and he would be one of the best players to have next to Bargs. The Raps need a 3 that can defend the interior and rebound while still facilitating things, and he fits that bill as well as pretty much anybody

I still like the Nets chances because I dont believe this report. It was only a week ago when Kirilenko was asked if he was interested in Brookyln Nets if he returns to NBA and he responded "yes". Probably because he has a great relationship with Proky. Andrei has been linked to the Nets the past few years.

Wouldn't be surprise if AK47 takes the vet minimum to play for the Nets. However, Warriors, Wolves, and Jazz are most likely going to land him because they have much more money to offer him than the Nets.

I'm going to assume, he's going to Golden State.

I like the GS idea, he'd be a perfect fit there.

He'd also fit in well in Denver… I hear they like AK-47s around there.

Sorry.

If the Nets had money a deal would have been done already. Still hoping Proky can somehow get the dude to sign for the minimum.

Money isnt the issue. AK is simply taking his time to decide where is best for him.

It's certainly an issue. Also Nets won't offer him a starting job, or the ability to play the minutes he's probably going to want with Teletovic and Brooks off the bench. With that said he's a great all around player who the Nets would love to have off the bench.

BradHolt4CYoung

If the Nets can get a second unit of

Watson
Brooks
AK47
Teletovic
FA center (Darko?)

....That would be a awesome bench!

AK has stated many times money isnt an issue with him, whatever money he's made lately has been donated to his charity. I dont think hes looking for a big pay day by any means unless its just a ludicrous offer.
