View Full Version : 5th Annual PSD Player Rankings #10 SG In The NBA? (Volume: V)

Hey guys, Some of you may remember that for the last four years I have conducted a poll at the end of the season that had PSD users vote for the top 10 players at each position. The season is now over and the Heat have been crowned NBA champs which means its time to kick off the off-season player rankings.

A lot has changed since last season. Lebron was labelled by some as Choke Artist in the clutch and now this year had one of the greatest finals performances in recent memory. Let start the discussion since lots has changed since the start of last season. Please TRY AND VOTE FOR THE BEST PLAYER AND DON'T BE A HOMER. I will leave the poll open for one day and than we can carry on to the next best player at that position. I will add more players after each round. I have also included the results of those last 4 years so everyone can see how much things have changed...Enjoy.

REMEMBER this is based on who is the best player, not the player who has the potential to be the best

I'll show some love for Klay Thompson. 17/3/3/ on high efficiency once he got the starters role the last couple months (44% field, 40% 3pt, 87% line). Even better now.

He's played really well, and since he joined the select team and scorched the Summer League in 2 games to the point that they sat him as it was beneath him, I'm highly excited to see him going forward.

Was surprised to see Manu INCREASE his ranking every year from 2009 (6) to 3rd last two years. He IS benjamin button. Good to see him respected around PSD.

Tough choice. Would normally have gone with Ray or Chauncey but their injuries had me decide between Lou/Afflalo/Terry/Avery. Picked Lou. I think he'll do big things in Atlanta next year!

EDIT: Accidently voted for Ray. Whoops - without injuries he would've deserved it anyway

Ray Allen shouldn't make this list, but it's so jumbled as to who should be (I think all of Thornton/Williams/Afflalo at the very least should all be ahead of him), that he's just going to get it off of reputation and homer voting.

Right, but that happens when players get older. His down year shouldn't be overlooked when there are a number of SGs who had better seasons and likely will from here on out as well.

Allen will be picked because of his name but I think this should be a race between Affalo, Thornton, and DeRozan.

Why is there no love for Tony Allen....Although he isn't an offensive player he was efficient shooting %0.470 and 1st team defense

DeRozan isn't even near Ray Allen's teir much less being better than him.

There was no better shooter at the SG this past season not to mention that even with his advanced age he was better defensively than both Thronton and DeRozan and was still incredibly clutch when he was healthy during the regular season.

Afflalo deserves to be in the argument DeRozan is way down the list.

Agreed this list has already been ****ed up.

Afflalo is better because he can create his own shot and he plays better defense. At this point in their careers Afflalo is the better player.
