View Full Version : Idea I had about USA vs World bball

With Olympics, comparisons to 1992 I was interested in looking at all the international teams. After examining them USA should coast (all though through 4 scrimmages including close one with ARG today maybe they won't COAst) I thought how about USAs best vs international best in best of 7.

For USA my roster would look like this (purely the best not USA team)

C DHoward---Bynum/Chandler
PF Lebron---Love/Bosh (Aldridge arguable)
SF Durant---Melo/Iggy
SG Kobe---Wade/Harden
PG Paul---DWilliams/Rose

World is a little more debatable at some spots

C Pau Gasol---MGasol and 1 of these three Verrajo/Bogut/Nene
PF Dirk---Ibaka/Al Horford (Bargnani and Scola options)
SF Deng---Batum/Gallo or AK47
SG Ginobli---Ben Gordon/Rudy Fernandez or Barbosa or Delfino or Petruis or Schved or Barrera
PG Tony Parker---Steve Nash/Ricky Rubio or Goran Dragic

usa would beat any team by 20-40 easy

The Olympics would never do this...

How about all runners get a 3 second head start against Usain Bolt too?

I think your highly underrated the Foreign players.

Sure the USA team has more athleticism and skill but on a team chemistry basis I think the World players would put up a fair fight. Like Kobe said, the Europeans are much better at developing their players in terms of knowledge of the game and pure basketball skill.

Spain, Argentina and France are three teams that can be a fair fight for the USA team this summer. Now your combining the players on all three and MORE?

NO WAY is it a blow out... in fact I think...
1 game- comes down to last second shot
best of 3- Could go either way but def World players can win 1 game.

thats a hell of an idea actually..wish it was possible

They should do that. Find the biggest venue possible. Say its a charity event or something that would make this reasonable. Just a game between the two wouldn't happen unless there is a good reason.

us wins easily

the reason why international teams are bein competitive is b/c of chemistry. theyve been the same squad for years where as usa puts bunch of talent couple months before .

combining an international team would mess up the chemistry

Yea, I'm thinking no. That team has a lot of talent on it

The US isnt even going to win this summer against the individual countries let alone an all star team from them

Edit: I didnt realize that the USA roster given included Howard/Wade etc. Still, to say any game would easily be a blowout is beyond ridiculous

USA would get crushed they almost lost to Argentina alone today, how are they going to beat all the countries combined? Plus a lot of Americans don't want to play for the states anymore and fake injuries or ask for money to do so (Allen, wade, bosh, etc). How are you going to win when half your players don't even want to be there?

Could make it the All-Star game?

07-23-2012, 02:15 AM
the guy who said charity game nailed it. it would be an insult to individual countries to do this for the olympics.

Why should we do this if some of our countrys HAVE a chance to defeat usa ourselves?

Of course i would love for the boring as hell west vs east asg to be turned into TEam usa vs TEam Foreigners.

No they wouldn't. They barely beat Spain in 2008.
