I have been trying to find this info everywhere but cant find it. Reason im asking is because of the dwight drama. If he isnt traded what teams can sign without giving anything in return

Dallas/Atlanta are the only teams I think he would look at.

So Atlanta and Dallas will have the most cap for 2013?

I would say Spurs have a chance, a small possibility. If he looked at it smart, I would give them a bigger chance in getting him

I think the pistons will have a ton of cap room as will the jazz, but dwight wouldn't sign with either of those teams

Waiters looked lost in the Summer League.

But Howard wants to win a ring or two.

Any team that Howard chooses, has to have the flexibility to be able to construct a championship roster.

So either he has to try to force his way to the Nets (after jan 15,2013)

Grow a brain and tell the magic front office that he wants to be traded to OKC or the Clippers (these two teams give Howard the best chance at a Dynasty "more then two rings").

PS - does anyone know what the cap will be after next season? I don't believe that information is released until the beginning of the off-season prior to FA...so it won't be known until next year...

So Atlanta and Dallas will have the most cap for 2013?

That's my understanding, of course, I certainly could be mistaken.

Teams w/ low payroll and a teams with a bunch of contracts that expire at the end of this season like the mavs. Plus you want to stay under the cap so you can make sign and trades.

This might be able to answer your question

Who would be able to afford Howard next summer if he is an UFA. Dallas, Houston, anyone else?

Larry Coon

Here’s a team that always seems to fly just under the radar, and when all is said and done, people wonder “Where did they come from?” San Antonio potentially can have close to enough cap room to make it interesting.

Other teams that could have enough space: Atlanta, Cleveland, Houston, Minnesota, Phoenix, Utah. Maybe Detroit, Milwaukee & New Orleans.

Howard would never go to San Antonio

He would be bored. Just being honest.

SA is not a threat for Dwight,he want's a big market. But you never know maybe Tim and Pop can sell him on a winning culture.

If Dwight Howard was a free agent. The Nets would give away Brook Lopez for a 2nd round pick to anyone willing to absorb his contract so they can sign Howard.

As opposed to being in Dallas where it's like the NYC of Texas?

I don't remember anyone saying he'd go to SA, there was a question asked on cap space for 2013.

It wouldn't happen for so many reasons plus what you mentioned. Going there would probably help his image, but it won't happen. I think it's obvious where this dude ultimately wants to end up

Plus I Think they would have to let Manu walk next year to make space too, and I don't see that really happening.

I think if the Pistons amnesty Villanueva next off season they will have enough cap for 2 max players...probably going to be DJ Augustin & JJ Reddick :pity:

Even with Lin AND Asik assuming the Rockets manage to trade Kevin Martin (and his $14 million expiring) they can sign 2 max. If they get Bynum/Howard they can still sign 1 more max deal.

storytellerscontracts.com is better. Usually more accurate numbers, more info, and there are much better layouts - plus you can see past years' salaries.

still aren't up to date with recent signings and trades, though.

lol, no. Between Deron, JJ, Wallace, Humphries, they still wouldn't have even close to the room. You'd have to find someone willing to take on at least JJ and probably also one of Wallace and Humphries without sending anything back. And, you know, good luck with that.
