View Full Version : Andray Blatche becomes Free Agent, Who will sign him?

Fresno
07-20-2012, 03:32 PM
As expected, Andray Blatche cleared waivers Thursday when no teams with salary cap space made the minimum bid of $3.79 million to acquire him. Blatche is now an unrestricted free agent.

Blatche’s agent, Andy Miller, said he doesn’t expect teams to make a serious push for his client’s services until the conclusion of summer league.

The Wizards designated Blatche as their amnesty player Tuesday, ending a seven-year relationship with the 6-foot-11 power forward, who has career averages of 9.9 points and 5.4 rebounds. Blatche will receive the entire $23 million remaining on his contract, over three years. His salary, however, is no longer on the Wizards’ payroll, under the rules of the league’s collective bargaining agreement.

Brooklyn? OKC? Golden State? Clippers?

A lot of teams are still looking for a backup PF who showed he could put up 20/10 a few seasons ago, but is a knucklehead.

Gotta be a team/organization that can help keep him in check, and not let him impact the locker room/chemistry. My opinion, is younger teams will stay away. He's got a ton of upside, but he needs to be in the right situation.

I could see SA, Miami, and Boston show interest in him.

In all seriousness, SA and Blatche need one another

Blatche needs the stability, the hard *** coach, the mentoring vets, and so on. Spurs need size and skill, he has more than any big not named Duncan

Boston miami or LAC

Clippers best place he could go theyd have a starting power until blake returns and once he does return theyd have the deepest bench and he could backup jordan hell there bench would be a starting caliber team

Jordan/Blatche
Griffin/Odom
Butler/Hill
Billups/Crawford
Paul/Bledsoe

Blatche to LAC hes 6'11" and can play center and power

What are the Cons and Pros about him?

Cons: Doesn't give consistent effort, terrible help defender, offensive lapses, immature on court, doesnt know how to be or even the process of being a winner.

Pros: can hit the midrange at a decent clip, shown advanced footwork especially when facing up, average rebounder, good passer for his position,

Summary: can give you 35, 16, and 5 one night then give you 8, 6, the next. Playing with the spurs is best because Pop, TD, Sjax would challenge him. Gilbert Arenas is one of the worst leaders in nba ever. I still think dude can turn it around.

I remember when Baltche used to be called the poor mans KG.

Fresno
07-21-2012, 07:24 PM
KG would set his *** straight

No.

Blatche was noticeably upset and appeared to hold back tears as he explained his encounter with Garnett, which nearly got heated when Garnett approached Blatche and tried to wrestle the ball away from him. Blatche appeared to throw an elbow as Garnett continued to taunt him. Blatche later flung Garnett into a cameraman and sent him to the foul line for two free throws. Garnett smiled as he was helped off the ground. Reserve forward James Singleton said Garnett used his “veteran senses” to needle Blatche and get under his skin.

“I see myself as defending myself as a player. I’m a man, just like they a man. If a man is talking to me this close to my face,” Blatche said, moving his hand toward his cheek. “I’m going to say something back. He has to respect me just like I respect him. I just, ‘Get up out of my face.’ He was this close in my face - I can feel his lips touching my cheek - I wasn’t bragging saying ‘Ah we winning.’ It was ‘Back up.’ “

Spurs actually make a lot of sense.

He's going to collect his salary from Washington for the next 3 years so he could sign with San Antonio on a veterans minimum contract during that time.

It could possibly give him the chance to turn his career & reputation in the NBA around like Zach Randolph did in Memphis under Lionel Hollins.
