I am guessing

1. Klay Thompson
2. Greg Monroe
3. Kylie Irving (not sure if he is really break out material. he was already good in 2012)
4. Ricky Rubio

Stephen Curry if he can just stay healthy. Yeah clay is also gonna be real good.

GREATNESS ONE

Kyrie Irving is my choice. Especially if they can land an all-star 7-ft big man :p

TylerSL
07-20-2012, 03:22 AM
Dragic and Curry are choices. Monroe has a good chance, and Rubio's name should also be thrown in there. Beasley has potentional IMO. I think Kyrie is already good. At the end of the day, I would give the nod to Greg Monroe.

I guess I'm being "bias" here but I think Marshon Brooks may break out to be one of the best 6th men in the league.

He will shock many, hes just instant offense.

In a few years I truly believe he can be Harden-like.

Tyreke and/or Cousins
Evan Turner
Iman Shumpert
O.J. Mayo
Lin (playing a full year)
Derrick Favors
Jeff Teague
John Wall

I think all these guys have a chance at breaking out this season.

nyyfan4life
07-20-2012, 03:38 AM
Chandler Parsons. I can see him averaging 15-7-5 next year and emerging as an elite perimeter defender. He's been working on his shot and ball-handling this off-season and whether he plays for the Rockets or another team (presumably Orlando w/ the potential Howard trade), I think he can be really good.

I'm going w/ DeMarcus Cousins or Chandler Parsons. Sleeper pick b/c I just think all the pressure is off him and he's free from a regulated iso offense, y'all might think I'm crazy Landry Fields.

Possibly BUT Nets running a lineup like this plenty during the season:

DWill
Brooks
JJ
Wallace
Lopez

Wallace can rotate at the 4 and that lineup is pure offense.

nah homie, he's too young to start right now. I think he's 6th man for you. Which is better. Joe Johnson is the vet and a big mismatch at the 2, and you just paid Hump all that money, he's a top 5 rebounding big in the league, Wallace isn't taking his time at PF.

DeMarcus Cousins. He's the only one who can stop him.

I could see him following the pattern of recent stars who really broke it open in their third seasons. Kevin Love, Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, etc. Perhaps not the level of those guys but he has all the talent to do it.

Cousins/Monroe should be really good now with this extra training camp etc. Just depend if they get enough spotlight out of the playoffs on unfashionable teams to be recognised for it. (They'd have to get Love type numbers as Love took ages to get recognised as legit despite hitting top numbers all year)

Both could be allstars in a couple years given the right chance.

No-one has mentioned him yet but i think Paul George is due to step up.

I was simply stating that that is a possible rotation you will see this season. Not the starting lineup per say.

When Hump needs a break or we need an effective offensive lineup we could certainly run with that during a game.

For a long time my break out player was Tyrus Thomas but that doesn't seem to be likely.

Homer I'll go Jrue Holiday and outside of that I'll go Gallo, Ty Lawson or Nikola Pekovic. I really think Ty would throw his name in the hat of the top 6 PG contention this coming season however.

Evan Turner will win MIP this season IMO and put up near all star numbers. Kyrie will become an all star. Demarcus Cousins will be an all star this season. Monroe might be an all star this season I think. Klay Thompson might shine a little as well. Ricky Rubio will probably breakout as well. So many good young players coming up.

AndyfromNeptune
07-20-2012, 01:46 PM
To the people who keep saying Shumpert and Derozan and Brooks.

These players are on teams with a lot of depth and other primary scorers. If Derozan didn't break out last year, he won't do it this year. Shumpert is coming off an injury and Brooks will have to compete for backcourt minutes with two players who are better than he is.

I think the ideal picks here are OJ Mayo, John Wall, Stephon Curry, Demarcus Cousins, Jeremy Lin (for a full season this time) and Kyrie Irving.

My sleeper pick is Lance Thomas. I don't know why but I think he being on the Olympic select team will facilitate his development.

I remember last off season when John Wall was beasting in all those tournaments everyone was saying he was going to bust out and become a star and what not. One bad season on a horrible team and suddenly he isn't the type of talent they thought he'd be I bet Wall shows serious promise and surprises a lot of those fans next season.

I'm not a Toronto fan so you probably know better, but I don't think Derozan will "break out". There is so much depth on that team at the SG spot.

If anything, Landry Fields or Terrence Ross have breakout years. Hypothetically, Derozan should have had a break out year last year without all the competition at SG/SF.

Also, Jonas Valunciciunas could have a breakout rookie year.

t.ross is a rookie. coach casey already said he would be filling a 6th man type role.

derozan is going in to a contract year, and like you said the compition is getting steap at his position. so im expecting him to have a good year. he has too for his careers sake..

Yes. He averaged around 11-8-4 his last season at Florida. He's been asked to work on his ball-handling and play-making this off-season. He's gonna likely be the primary ball-handler after Lin for the Rockets.

Oh and the most obvious, John Wall. Had a great draft pickup in Brad Beal their back court is now set for the future. Ariza and Okafor for Rashard Lewis and a pick? Another great off season move. With Blatche recently amnestied they have officially removed the last knucklehead factor. I think John Wall will have a huge breakout year barring an injury, knock on wood.
