Ken Berger ‏@KBergCBS
Adam Silver says it's "likely" some sort of plan for jersey advertisements would be implemented next season.

Ken Berger ‏@KBergCBS
The current idea, which Silver said needs more discussion, is to have a 2-by-2 advertisement patch on the shoulder of jerseys.

Ken Berger ‏@KBergCBS
Silver says guidelines on jersey ads would be in effect for next season, but the ads wouldn't appear on jerseys until the following season.

Ken Berger ‏@KBergCBS
Silver says his sense is that every team is in favor of jersey ads in some form.

I find this a little absurd, yes the ad's are small and only on the shoulder, but does the NBA really need MORE money that would cause them to put advertisements on the uniforms

Wouldn't be able to stand it. First the shoulders, and then they gradually implement more and more. This aint ****ing NASCAR dammit. Hell no

How would this work? A company would pay a lot more to have their brand on the jerseys of heat, lakers and knicks players than bobcats, wolves....

Knicks - Apple
Bobcats - Langley Falls Motor Oil

No more jersey purchases for me if/when that happens. Please everyone else do the same, only way to hit them in the pockets an make them rethink. These guys aren't ****ing billboards.

Nike puts their logo on a shirt and people happily pay money to advertise for them.

Hate this idea, but when consumers volunteer to be walking billboards why wouldn't they go after NBA jerseys

Love the idea as a pure capitalist. I love advertising and enjoy clever marketing.

+ 1. the nba is shameless, anything to make a buck. I can only hope that this disease does not spread to the mlb, nhl or nfl.

As long as when I buy my jersey there's no ad on it.

 Love the people freaking out over such a small thing. The rest of the world does this with almost every sport, and yet it's such a big problem when the sports that "belong" to the biggest consumer nation do the same thing. Oh, how this country is filled with idiots.

Your missing a tweet. There was one that said teams could make around 100 Mill a year off jersey ads. That right there lets me know this will happen for sure. It also helps small market teams make money doesn't it?

LOL has anyone thought this might lead to lower ticket and merchandise prices?

"""No **** that I didn't want the teams to make money by adding something that in all honesty won't effect me or my game experience at all" "This is such bull****, how dare the OWNERS of the team try and make more money, those dirty bastards"."""

Geez people need to shut the **** up.

I'm cool with this is this is as far as it goes. I mean, it works in soccer. It generates revenue, which the owners say they are in dire need of, and after all the rediculous contracts that have been sign and all the players that have been amnestied, the owners are going to need that extra revenue.

JeffG20
07-19-2012, 10:36 PM
if it generates money for smaller market teams i'm all for it
