View Full Version : 5th Annual PSD Player Rankings #8 SG In The NBA? (Volume: V)

Hey guys, Some of you may remember that for the last four years I have conducted a poll at the end of the season that had PSD users vote for the top 10 players at each position. The season is now over and the Heat have been crowned NBA champs which means its time to kick off the off-season player rankings.

A lot has changed since last season. Lebron was labelled by some as Choke Artist in the clutch and now this year had one of the greatest finals performances in recent memory. Let start the discussion since lots has changed since the start of last season. Please TRY AND VOTE FOR THE BEST PLAYER AND DON'T BE A HOMER. I will leave the poll open for one day and than we can carry on to the next best player at that position. I will add more players after each round. I have also included the results of those last 4 years so everyone can see how much things have changed...Enjoy.

REMEMBER this is based on who is the best player, not the player who has the potential to be the best

Give me Arron Afflalo here. I love his emerging offensive game to go along with his solid defense. Shooting 45% from the field while shooting close to 40% from beyond the arch is good be me.

yo avery!!!!!!!!

affalo is an average defender, no way is he top 10

Not K-Mart either, he can't get to the line anymore with the KM rule, and his defense has always been terrible

Thornton=Terry.

I might just go with George here.

Last year was a down year but has had a good reputation in the past. I would take him over Martin, Thornton, Ray Allen and even your boy Bradley.. :p

This is hard...allen, martin were injured/sucked last year, and afflalo went ghost in the playoffs. I think I'll takke Allen on reputation

I'm torn Martin is probably it but he had a rough year. Terry is a bench player but is probably the best offensive 2 left. Aflalo does everythign but hoenstly doesn't really impress me. I think Thornton or PG even have a case now.

I got Ray Allen here despite getting up there in age and being injured on various occasions he still had one of the best shooting seasons of his career. Based on last season I'd take Ray over the other guys left on this list at least when he was healthy.

Its Kevin Martin, Ray Allen shouldnt win this.

Even though he fell off a bit, I still think Martin is better than these guys right now.

Went R Allen. A Bradley not there yet, but Afflalo and Martin are also good choices here. Allen should have a great year in Miami considering the younger talent he'll be playing with.

Swashcuff

I LOVE Avery Bradley and what he did last season I believe he's a top 4 perimeter defender in the NBA but there is a guy there that I'd put ahead of him based on defense alone named Tony Allen. He does have a better offensive game than Allen though.

It was 6 games and no other player really outdid him on average. K-Mart didnt even make the playoffs and has negative defensive value. Which is fine if hes producing at the rate he did before last year.

Paul George was just as inefficient and Ray Allen played through injury. Face it, we have reached the bottom of the barrel at a weak position

I think the Nuggets/Lakers series went 7. I agree that there was an enormous drop off after 7 though.

Gotta be Kevin Martin. Next is Afflalo then Paul George.

Ray Allen isn't a top 10 SG anymore and Billups isn't a true SG so both don't belong in the top 10 imo.

I like Kevin Martin a lot, but if you're going to vote for a scorer whose defense is lacking, vote for the one who had a better year in Thornton.

I know, but he was awful. Courtney Lee should be the choice here if Martin is getting votes, he straight up stole his job.

I'll admit he had a down year going from 23 PPG to 17 PPG but it's
Not like he's suddenly a scrub. I personally don't think he's #8 but he's still the best player on Houston and a good player.

Martin was struggling with injuries.. if were giving Rose a pass then I think Martin gets one too.

I mean you can't seriously sit there and say that Indiana wouldn't be a better team with Martin instead of George..

Martin struggled with more than just injuries, when the league made the rip move a non call, he suffered more than anyone from the rule change.

I mean you can't seriously sit there and say that Indiana wouldn't be a better team with Martin instead of George..

That's because Martin is actually a shooting guard, PG is forced to play the position because Danny Granger is an all-star caliber small forward.

In many aspects Rose improved as a player this past season Martin regressed greatly IMO this comparison made no sense whatsoever. Rose wasn't given a pass Rose was flat out a better player.
