are you guys happy with the way the NBA is changing?

it's going to be 5-6 super teams in a few years. is that what everyone favors?

personally, i never liked it. if the bulls had lebron, wade, rose, and dwight, HONESTLY, i don't think i would like that more than the team last year (assuming we had no injuries... lol). at some point, doesn't it get ******** to have that many superstars?.. especially ones that you don't even like? Nash is great, but shouldn't lakers fans hate him?

makes for a much less interesting regular season, but much more interesting post season i guess.

i feel like if there were 6 super teams in a few years, the NBA should just start eliminating the useless teams. If Dwight goes to LA (which will probably happen), it's going to be LAL vs. MIA in the finals.. you know stern wouldn't have it any other way. would send ratings to the highest they've ever been.

Opening Day Lineup
PG: Rondo/Terry/Smith
SG: Lee/Moore/Christmas
SF: Pierce/Green/Joseph
PF: Bass/Sullinger
C: Garnett/Wilcox/Melo
The question marks are Smith and Xmas to start off the year. Christmas is almost a guarantee to make the team with his play in the summer league. Smith got an invite to training camp early and his play has earned him a roster spot. This could change with what we take with the BAE. But as of now, this is our opening day roster. Hopefully we can get Stiemsma back.

I like what Boston has done, but you still have to see them as an injury risk. Plus, the offseason isn't over yet and you have a few teams in the East that are looking to make a splash of their own.

Oh for sure, they haven't been fully healthy in a long time. KG and pierce are injury risks but they do have some nice young guys. I think miami matches up better with them now that allen is gone. Allen was a heat killer. Terry is too but he doesnt worry me as much as allen did.

Also i am interested to see how doc plays all these guys. They will def be playing small ball. But imo, boston is dangerous when rondo is on the floor.

Thats the only part that i wonder about. They must be wanting to play lee at the 3. or play with 3 guards and 2 bigs. Terry at the point doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me. Rondo needs close to 35-40min at the point. So maybe terry gets 12-15min at the point and 10-15min at the 2. bradley when he gets back will get 20-25 min at the 2. Clee needs 20-28min a game at the 2/3. pierce needs 30-35min at the 3/4. green needs 20-30min at the 3/4.

Doc will have his hands full, especially when bradley gets back.

Well remember the Rockets HAVE NOT SIGNED ANY OF THEIR ROOKIES. There is a reason for this, Morey is strategically placing himself as the only team that can accomodate a Dwight Howard trade. All this information that is going around, let's be real. The Rockets WILL be involved in any Howard trade. The cap space they have is ridiculous (YES EVEN WITH LIN & ASIK).

Now they have yet another 2nd rd pick and a tradeable asset in JaJuan Johnson. Morey will probably only get a 2nd rd pick for him but regardless its yet ANOTHER pic. Patience is a virtue and time is on Morey's side. It is not on the Magic's side, however.

If PSD experts are trashing the deal it must be a good trade :laugh2:

are you guys happy with the way the NBA is changing?

it's going to be 5-6 super teams in a few years. is that what everyone favors?

personally, i never liked it. if the bulls had lebron, wade, rose, and dwight, HONESTLY, i don't think i would like that more than the team last year (assuming we had no injuries... lol). at some point, doesn't it get ******** to have that many superstars?.. especially ones that you don't even like? Nash is great, but shouldn't lakers fans hate him?

makes for a much less interesting regular season, but much more interesting post season i guess.

i feel like if there were 6 super teams in a few years, the NBA should just start eliminating the useless teams. If Dwight goes to LA (which will probably happen), it's going to be LAL vs. MIA in the finals.. you know stern wouldn't have it any other way. would send ratings to the highest they've ever been.

He was actually my favorite non laker because I respect the hell out of him, I would have cheered for him to win a title on the heat or knicks, it just so happens he came to my team.

Barring injuries, the Celtics will be going into the playoffs with Jeff Green, Jason Terry, Courtney Lee, Chris Wilcox, Jared Sullinger...All players that they didn't have in the playoffs last year.

The only players they lost were Ray Allen, Keyon Dooling, Mikael Pietrus, Ryan Hollins (lol), and Marquis Daniels (lol).

Allen is the only real loss. Pietrus was injured and awful, Dooling was inconsistent for a majority of his time on the court, Hollins is a scrub, Marquis Daniels has been a scrub the past 3-4 years.

Ray is their only major loss, and he was easily replaced with Lee and Terry.

The Celtics will be the same team with a starting lineup of Rondo, Bradley, Pierce, Bass, KG...With a much, much better bench consisting of Terry, Lee, Green, Sullinger and Wilcox (--And, they still have the BAE to spend).

Barring injuries (which can be said for ANY team), I like their chances to compete against anyone.

Bradley absolutely makes a huge difference IMO. His defense on Wade would have been so helpful. Not saying he would sut Wade down (although w/ Wade hobbling like he was I don't think it's that unreasonable - Bradley is that good on D and Wade like I said was hurt), but having Bradley to defend Wade helps with Lebron. And Green is a big part of matching up w/ Lebron playing PF. Those 2 may just be role players, but they both fill absolutely crucial roles for BOS in the specific matchup vs MIA. They probably have a bigger impact against MIA than any other team in the league.

I'm not arguing with you that BOS would win - I pick MIA. I just think you're underestimating how role players can be absolutely crucial in certain matchups.

Care to respond? You said something about them just adding Bradley and Green. It's a lot more than just Bradley and Green..

This team is better (on paper) than last year's playoff team that took the Heat to 7 games. The Heat got better with Allen, as well, but I'd say that the Celtics made more improvements on their roster thus far.

To what? lets see how they play on the floor. My prepare to be wowed comment was about the guy that thought wade wont be healthy at 30.

Miami's most important piece was missing 4 games and still playing hurt when he returned. We all saw what happened when KG had to stand on the 3pt line with bosh.

You guys overrate bradley, he is a nice young player but he's not a star. Wade could not have played any worse either.

We will see next year but i think miami would win that matchup in 6 with both teams healthy.

What do you think is a bigger loss? Not having bradley and green, or not having bosh for 4 games and still not healthy when he retuned and wade on 1 knee? I say miami's injuries were more significant than bostons.

Lol when you mention "a bigger loss" or "completely healthy", we COMPLETELY did not have those players which is a big difference from having someone hobbled/partially injured. Plus, there are so many more injuries that you are overlooking if you wanna talk about playing hurt and not playing at 100%...but let me get into the full picture of bostons injuries:

Jermaine O'neal - was our starting center; out for season

Chris Wilcox - essential rotational player and was our next starting center; out for season

Jeff Green - he was supposed to be our sixth man and we were expecting big things from him; out for season

Greg Stiemsma - injured foot. key rotational player

Avery Bradley - lock down defender not much needed to be said, couldve really used him; out for the series

Mickael Pietrus - just came back from a 3rd degree concussion and knee issues

Ray Allen - playing with bone spurs

Paul Pierce - was also playing with a strained knee

Mind you, if you know the celtics and watch them....every single player up there is a very important piece and would have been/is part of our main rotation whether it be in the season or the playoffs

I know injuries are not an excuse as every team had them ( i am definitely not blaming our losses purely on our injuries) but this is just to compare to the full scope since you talked about "bigger loss" or "completely healthy".

And you have to look more at strategy. The reason boston was successful was they were doubling wade and using KG to roam the paint. Once bosh came back in KG's effectiveness went wayyyy down.

Other problem is when have the celtics ever been fully healthy? there is always someone out or hurt. Not saying that will always be the case but their is a history there.

I dont think terry or brdaley running the point is a very good idea. The celtics are not that good on offense to begin with. They need rondo out there, and will need him out there at least 40 minutes in the playoffs. I just dont see where all those players you mentioned get their minutes.

rondo 40/8minutes for a backup, who?
bradley30/18minuetes for a backup terry and lee....
pierce36/12min for a backup green?
bass20/28min for a backup green? sullinger? willcox?
kg36/12min for a backup, who?

i will be interested to see what their playoff rotation looks like. unless they go super small and play pierce at the 4. But even then, i dont think the team will be very effective without rondo on the floor. He is the engine that runs the celtics.

Super.
