"He will reportedly receive $44 million over the next four years (slightly less than the $14 million annual salary McGee reportedly sought from the Wizards before getting moved in March)."

He has great potential, but he got to stop doing these type of plays.

Granted he's only been with the Nuggets a short time, but since the trade he has not contributed any more material to the blooper reels.

Of course, we have yet to see if this pays off for the Nuggets or not. But it's not an unreasonable contract in the context of NBA bigs. And I think many people underestimate just how toxic the Wizards environment was for his development.

Since the trade, he's already made some pretty big strides towards getting on a much better track. And with the structured, disciplined organization he's in in Denver, with veteran leadership in Andre Miller and Al Harrington (yeah, say what you will, but he's a fantastic locker room guy), with some personal coaching from Hakeem this summer, with the guidance and motivation from the Nuggets coaching and training staff, and with the pure freakish talent he brings to the table, I'm optimistic that this will look like a very smart move in a season or two.
