To make room for Scola, the Suns have amnestied Josh Childress, according to multiple reports.

This guy used to be a sold 6th man with the hawks. What team do you think could use his talents. Maybe an Atlanta return?

If the hornets didn't match the eric gordan offer they would of had a pretty fast rebuild

I'm def being a jerk

But seriously I'm not impressed with him

LIke maybe he can be a 7th or 8th guy on the bench

Her wasted that time in Greece, he's like 29 and doesnt really have much NBA experience.

He's a vet with no seasoning.... so weird... Those years he was in Greece he could have been learning here in the NBA

Nobody want's a 29 year old that still doesn't get the ins and outs of the NBA

You took more money in Greece (maybe) but you hurt your career and development

I think you guys are just turned off by how grossly he was overpaid by the Suns, which is understandable. But at the right price, Childress gives you a player who can finish above the rim, is a big hustle player, and plays some good defense. For the veteran minimum he can give you some hustle and defense on your bench, which any team should be interested in.

This guy is actually really underrated. We always just had too much wings for him to get any playing time.

He's a solid defender and a great hustle player. Offensively, he's a decent slasher but nothing more.

He messed up going overseas

He used to be so good and had potential to be a solid starter in this league

Hope he has a turn around

Not the case at all

just saying those years in Europe hurt his development. Not many teams want a guy nearing 30 that still need "developing" at his age you're ready to play or you're not

Chris Weinke? (not that extreme though)

Serious question, why is it always a Europe thing with you? Nobody is butthurt over Childress playing overseas..

read the comments.

I wonder how the **** can playing in europe hurt jack about developing when its a proven fact that in europe you get more team training between games more tactical training and more focus on fundamentals .

Ask Charlie Bell, or Anthony Parker for example what did playing in europe do for them.

NBA is a different speed, pace and style than Euro ball. He was still in developmental mode and he left the NBA to go to Europe. I'm sure his role in Europe was different than his NBA role would ever be (probably a star player on his European team and supposed to be a role player in the NBA) his whole deal/role/development is mixed up and that time in Europe is to blame (at lease in my estimation)

he made his money though so end of the day he will be ok

****, if we could get him for the minimum bid I would love to snag him for our bench. He can backup Marion and play some SG as well. In PHX he was a bad pick up due to contract but he is still a quality NBA player off a teams bench.

Childress is a nice player, he was just misused in Phoenix.

If they used the amnesty to free up space for Scola, does this mean that OJ Mayo is not looking as likely?

Can't shoot the ball from outside = no roster spot.

We still have enough cap room to sign Mayo.

Yeah Mayo is still an option, we've got more than $10Mill cap space left. Only reason we had to amnesty Childress was because Eric Gordons cap hold is still on our books untill he passes his physical with the Hornets.
