View Full Version : Report: Bulls trying to trade Rip Hamilton

Fresno
07-15-2012, 05:11 PM
Along these lines, league sources said the Bulls have shopped Richard Hamiltonís expiring $5 million deal, which carries a mere $1 million guarantee for 2013-14. Thus far, there have been no takers.

Hamiltonís contract has value, he has value as a player, and while he hasnít gotten offers yet, closer to the deadline he likely will.

But this is yet another sign the Bulls are deconstructing.

http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/07/15/bulls-shopping-rip-hamilton-that-was-fast/

The #Bulls are seriously shopping shooting guard Rip Hamilton. Targeting OJ Mayo, Courtney Lee, and likely Shannon Brown as replacement.

Disappointing for those who though this was Rip of old with the 03 Pistons. A lot of people knew what he brought, he was just overrated by a lot of the Chicago people.

I wouldnt say he was overrated, he just brought a lot more to the table then Bogans and Bulls fans were just excited with what he brought to the offense... When healthy he was actually pretty good and seemed to gel with Rose very quickly... I'd be fine with trading him with the intent of getting Mayo or Lee, and that's what I think the Bulls plans are

Orlando's offense was always a mess. I don't think his game fits well there. I think Chicago would give him a bit more freedom and a competent PG, which he needs imo.

What Bulls fans were looking for was just someone to alleviate some pressure off of Derrick and when healthy (which wasnt often) he actually did, considering what Bogans gave us... He was an upgrade and we don't really know for sure if he would have been enough to get us past the Heat this year because the injuries killed the Bulls this season

he was an upgrade to Bogans, for sure, but at the same time most of us knew he wasn't the long term option. I don't know why some people in this thread believe that most Bulls fans thought of him as the "savior".

I want to see Rip play on the Spurs, he fits the mold of what they actually want out of the SGs they get. Instead of killing high flying athletic slashers and turning them into off the pick shooters every year, Finley,RJ, SJ, etc, just get the actual type of guy you want. RH for Steven Jackson.

Bulls are better off going into full tank mode and retooling it while Rose is being out. They are not going anywhere as currently constructed. Dwight is such a diva, otherwise, he would made the Bulls legit.

The day Billups was traded from Detroit was the day Hamilton career begin to trend downward IMO...he seemed so unmotivated, and he became a diva. Rip was easily my favorite Piston in those days, but I'm glad we got rid of his ***(should have been sooner)

Man, I still can't believe Pistons blew that team up. Billups was the heart and soul of that team and they traded him. All they needed was some youth and depth. Instead, they dismantled one of the finest teams constructed ever. Not to mention that also marked the end of Allen Iverson's era.

I wouldn't trade him. When he was healthy last season he was solid. And besides like people said we traded or let go of most of our depth at SG.

Start him this year and let's se if he can keep his level of play up. (Though I doubt he'll be healthy when Rose and Deng come back to the lineup next year :ohno:)

What is full tank mode? And how do you do that when you have a top 5 coach, and a team that without rose was 18-9 last year?

ChicagoJ
07-16-2012, 02:50 PM
I think the bulls are thinking about the next 5-7 years not just next season. Some of the moves they are making right now are due to that. I don't expect the bulls to be quite as good as they were the past 2 years, but they still will be good. They just may loose some depth in the short term.

As for rip, I don't think any of us thought a championship was a lock after we got him. Miami is a tough opponent and I think all bulls fans knew that. But, he did make this team better. He just hasn't been able to stay healthy.

What is full tank mode? And how do you do that when you have a top 5 coach, and a team that without rose was 18-9 last year?

Thank you. Although prob still too logical for most posters on here. Maybe just tell the players to play really bad? Turn the ball over whenever you get it? Fact is everyone besides rose will be healthy and playing to start the season barring any injuries leading up to the season. Kirk replaces cj and is an upgrade. Butler replaces brewer which is a wash or even slight upgrade. We lose korver but are still looking at lee or mayo and asik hasn't even signed houstons offer sheet yet. The bulls win 40-50 games next year even with rose missing half the season.

Full tank mode would be faking injuries to deng, boozer, and noah which obviously won't happen. The level of fail in this thread and others is amusing as watching a dog chase its tail.

07-16-2012, 03:04 PM
The bulls are likely looking for a tpe for rip. Not sure how this many nba teams can turn down a decent sg for practically nothing. Also saying the bulls should start the season tanking is trolling cuz its an absurd and a pathetic statement. No team has a week one tank plan
It would kill tik sales and bottom line.. u tank wen u c u r already out of it. Tanking b4 week 1 is loser logic and strategy.

Oj is a younger jason terry to me .. Not a bad thing but not a starter next to rose.. And we need a full time starter..He is way to undersized and too much of a me first player to benefit us vs miami..

I rather us look to move boozer than any other bull ..

This season is a wash why not trade him .. Another team would trade for him ..hes not bad but for THIS team he is.. He wouldve fit with bk before the outregous deals they gave out.. I wouldnt have minded taking back some of bks garbage.. But i think Our front office views this guy soooo high for no fckking reason at all..

I rather us keep the amnesty for asiks 3rd yr than 2 years of boozers contract..

We would take back garbage but it would clear enough space to have flexibilty for a kevin martin or a offer for james harden even next year.. UNLESS this is boozers last year
