View Full Version : If a State-wide tournament was held, who would win?

JWO35
07-13-2012, 12:47 PM
I know there has been various questions similar to this, but I guess this would be a new spin(and its close to the Olympics)...let's say the United States held a 50 State-wide Basketball Tournament made up of current NBA Players & College Players.

To qualify to play for a state, you had to be born there...that's it, so what state you think would win?

I was checking out all the players born in Michigan...our roster would be pedestrian

I would think either NY or Chicago would have the best?

I wish the NBA would dump some of their regular season games and have other championship tournaments, like a US championship in addition to the NBA title. Put other NBA or semi-pro teams in the mix too.

Would give fans some variety and some hope for the smaller market teams to be winners too. Can't imagine what Bobcats fans went through 20 games into the season? Would have been better for them if the Bobcats still had a chance to play meaningful games in some tournament to be a champion...

Would be a sweeet matchup. Really hard to speculate on who would win, I think it would mostly depend on Anthony Davis's capabilities to handle Chandler. IL has the better backcourt IMO but CA has the front court no doubt. If Pierce is in his prime I'd go CA all day anyday. IL is the better defensive team but Chandler is by far the best defensive player. It's a coinflip, but we don't know how A Davis will handle the big boys yet.
