View Full Version : Poll: If you're Clippers front office, would you trade Griffin for Howard?

I don't know how Clips FO feel about this, because Blake Griffin to the Clips is probably like Jeremy Lin is to the Knicks, but DH, CP3 + decent role players = Finals. I don't see Griffin ever developing into the player DH is at both ends. Trade DeAndre for a 4 who can shoot.

If I were the Magic I wouldn't take that!

Nah.. I mean it makes sense but no.. Blake actually wants to play there and has committed to playing there long term, to go and just trade him like that when so many players have left as soon as they could wouldn't be right at all.

On a talent standpoint it makes sense though..

Dwight Howard and every other star in the NBA deserves to learn a lesson.. I hope Howard goes to the Rockets and can't go anywhere during free agency

If hes signing an extension then this is not even a question. I hate dwight and I would trade 2 blake griffins for him.

No chance Orlando does that

If Dwight will sign an extension, then absolfrigginlutely. Griffin is a knee injury away from being a useless PF (Loss of athleticism). Howard is the 2nd best player in the league (even if he's a bipolar *******).

Being a Clipper fan, hell no. I don't like Dwight Howard's attitude which can ruin team chemistry

WHEN griffin developes a consistent jumpshot, he will be unstoppable

07-13-2012, 01:06 AM
No I wouldn't do it... Blake is all in with the clips, he likes it here and he puts fans in the seats.... And he's only getting better... He's still young so yes there is still room for improvements on the jump shot and defense... But I would do Jordan bledsoe gomes 3 future 1st rd picks for him.. hey even if he doesn't stay, I would say they would have a good shot at winning it all this yr... And Blake could learn d from Howard

dwight is one of the nicest guys in the league, its a shame how people have a completely different view on him just because of what the media make them think.

I have a feeling blakes knees wont hold up to all his dunks and jumps, so i would trade him for dwight

The nicest guy in the league would just play out the one year extension HE signed and jet the next year.. insted of demanding a trade to ONLY ONE team

This is interesting... I'd say no. I like BG a lot, he can rebound, he's a great athlete and he's developing a good post game. I think the time with the olympic squad is good for him and I think he means more to the organization. Frankly speaking, when it comes to offence, CP3+DH12 = CP3+Tyson Chandler. That is how incompetent i think Howard is on offence. Is Blake ever going to be as good as Dwight on defence? No. But Dwight will never be as good as Blake on offence, and D-Jordan is a pretty good defender with potential to grow. So no. If I was the Clippers I would stick with what I got.

Without a doubt.
Griffin is going to become Danny Manning part II.

Chauncey Billups
Hedo Turkoglu
Keyon Martin

or maybe none of us know what the **** is going on in orlando behind the scenes so we just can't assume **** and pretend to have Dwight all figured out. For all we know there could be circumstances with the front office where we all could come out and "well i don't blame dwight at all"

IMO that's way way too much for Howard.

Howard is demanding to be traded so Orlando's hand is forced
They could only wish to be offered a player the caliber and age of Griffin.
I'd deal Griffin and Jordan for Howard and a bad contract or 2.

I think the Clippers should pull the trigger, Orlando needs someone to sell tickets for the next 10 years, and Clippers get an idiot who is the best center in the league with CP3, Billups, and Jamal Crawford

Raph12

Easily... Dwight would make them significantly better, especially after the meniscus tear Blake just suffered.

You act as if Bledsoe is some huge asset, dude is a glorified backup...

Method28
07-13-2012, 07:54 AM
@Raph

Bledsoe is a huge assest. Obviously not as good as Griff but he's a huge assest and is widely held in high regards by some gms that have commented. Why do you think the Clips stood firm that Bledsoe would NOT be included in the CP3 deal.

Bledsoe has the tools to be a Rajon Rondo type player with less playmaking ability but better on d.

Lol okay Dr. because Dwight Howard doesn't have a messed up back or anything that just required him to have surgery.

If you must know...

A meniscus tear is the most common knee injury there is. It will not effect explosiveness is easily repairable and the recovery time is minuscule. Many athletes tear their meniscus and probably never even realize. It's so minor that you can play on it with slight discomfort.

I don't know why Orlando would do that. Blake is a ticking time bomb medically, and quite frankly isn't a great player. A tremendously flashy one to be sure, but certainly not a great one.

Bruno
07-13-2012, 03:37 PM
I'd do it. Howard will peak out as the better player, and he'll last longer.

Blake is too injury prone; the new generations Amare. He'll be difficult to guard for a decade, but he'll never develop into a dominant defender.
