Same injury Jeremy Lin had?

Similar, but no idea on severity for Griffin.

Lin was a minor lateral meniscus tear.

Just read Sheridan's twitter he said Blake will be out 8 weeks. So he should be back by training camp. Sucks that he got hurt but I don't think this will be the last time as much as he jumps out of the gym almost every play.

6-8 weeks perhaps.

I heard it's the same knee that made him sit out his rookie year.

well, there goes adding much to his game for the upcoming season.

Blake, you have to stop putting on a show for the media when they get anywhere near you. Stop doing crazy dunks for no reason.

When he signed his $95 million deal the other day, I unfortunately thought he will probably miss games eventually with his relentless attacking style.

I hope I am wrong, for sure.

Can someone tell me why Lamarcus Alrdidge hasn't been mentioned at all? He can replace Griffin too if we are allowed to do so.

Hopefully he will understand that all that jump and weight on his knees is why he keeps getting hurt. He could add so many years on to his career if he develops a solid Mid range game for damn sure

Jerry Colangelo: "Waiting official opinion on Griffin." Says not necessarily torn meniscus, getting 2nd opinion. Davis stays with team

Marc Berman ‏@NYPost_Berman
Despite report of torn meniscus for Blake, Colangelo saying haven't heard yet and will have second opinion in New York.

Honestly Kenyon and Amare dealt with similar issues. Big Guys who jump out the gym put a beating on their knees.

That's terrible, not being able to compete for your country. I'm sure he'll make a full recovery and be ready for the season though.

Not a huge loss for Team USA imo. Don't know why Aldridge's name never gets mentioned

What good will Aldridge do? You don't need his offense on this team and he's not a good rebounder.

Sucks.. Was out the whole year for his 1st season due to injury, played last season (got hurt in the playoffs but played through it), and now has another injury again. I'm probably one of the few who don't really hate Blake so I'm hoping he doesn't continue this trend to the point where he will be considered injury prone.

What good will Aldridge do? You don't need his offense on this team and he's not a good rebounder.

Pace and he's always played next to dominant rebounders in Camby, Priz, Oden. He's not great by no stretch but hes adequate. Plus you can't teach size.

He's young and energetic. With old heads tellin you to dunk. Of course your going to splurge a little.

I feel bad for him though. He can't catch a break in this league.

FWIW Clippers fans, there's very little - if any - panic coming from the Blake Griffin/Clips camp in terms of the seriousness of his injury.

ramonashelburne ‏@ramonashelburne
Clippers source on Griffin's injury: "He dodged a bullet. It's not a new injury. It's not an ACL. Should be a 4-6 week recovery"

Seems like he had same injury in playoffs and didn't come forward so he could get that big deal. As long as he works hard on rehab and improves his free throw shooting/post moves by start of season I won't hold that against him.

From ESPN:

USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo suggested the soreness in Griffin’s knee was related to the injury he suffered during the 2012 NBA playoffs.

“The reality is, that injury took place at the end of the season,” Colangelo said. "And he had an option to get scoped and he opted not to get scoped. And so, I guess he aggravated it.

Amare added a jumpshot the year he couldnt move. What sucks is Blake was suppose to work out with Hakeem, first during the season last year but because of the lockout they were going to do it during the off season. Im guessing he can still watch him play and run through the motions or he will have to wait till the regular season. Either way this injury was a blessing in disguise, Im glad hes getting it scoped out, what Im scared of is structural damage. I remember when Tmac thought he was just getting scoped out but had to have MF, that would really confirm the Clipper curse.

Blake better work on his Post up and mid ranger game because those knees aint gonna allow him to jump over everybody much longer.

I think it may take a big toll on Griffin. He's a big body who relies off athleticism. Those two things don't usually last long.
