View Full Version : If Dwight is traded to HOU, would he just sabotage games and force HOU to trade him?

Since Dwight has clearly made it known he doesn't want anything to do with Houston, and he has a year left, couldn't he just check out and not give 100% at all and almost force HOU to trade him? I wonder if Morey has thought of that or maybe it doesn't matter to him?

I think he would sit out the first 3 months of the season because of his back which is what his camp has said the timetable of his return is and then start requesting a trade and pissing everyone off

how did he clearly make it known? anyways he would just leave via free agency like was gonna do in orlando

No cuz they can flip him to New jersey at the deadline.

No, that would be disrespectful to the game and he won't ever do that "on the court".

And stop calling the Nets "New Jersey". It's "Brooklyn".

Welcome to 2012-2013. Stop living in the past. LOL

Wouldn't be smart to play poorly coming off back surgery. Doubt it would do anything to his value or list of suitors, but you never know.

You never know, HOU might be able to sell him.
I'm guessing he'd most likely milk his back injury for a majority of the season. Isn't that what Gordon did with the Hornets?

T.I.-KingofRap
07-12-2012, 11:18 PM
no. I think if he did do that, he will lose a lot of respect from his friends and other NBA players and not to mention NBA legends. (if he hasn't already)

There have been plenty of ugly situations in the NBA before but i have never seen a player "sabotage games." Odom this past season was probably the worst I've seen and I still don't think that suckage was intentional. Most professional athletes have too much pride to actually play poorly on purpose. Maybe not giving 100% every night, sure, but that's far from actually trying to force a trade with bad play. Everyone wants to win, even just for personal satisfaction, if not the team's success.

This is so obvious. His recovery will take "LONGER" than expected and he will rehab in LA. He wont even get to Houston till the deadline if then.

Din,ding,ding.....and he would not even rehab in houston he would stay in LA. they would not even see him, let alone get a chance to sell him on anything. lol

What I dont understand is:

-Dwight's camp says he might sit out first 2 months of season (basically 1st half of season)
-Houston will have to trade him at deadline to Nets since he wont sign w/ Houston. getting lopez in return.

So Houston is gonna give up a ton of picks (including the guaranteed lottery pick) + take on hedo and jrich contracts for basically nothing but having dwight sit on the bench for the 1st half of the season?

Something is not right here. Im sure Houston's gm cant be that stupid. Methinks theres something crazy about to go down.

Who knows, honestly im just tired of this whole god damn thing. Im not interested anymore in Dwight and the drama ******** that has been surrounding him and anything hes associated with for the last year.

How about the league passes a rule where if you ***** one too many times, you automatically get sent to the Bobcats on a 5 year deal. Yes Dwight with this new rule you will still be a max player, but if you complain one time during your tenure with the Bobcats you lose 40 million dollars and whichever one of your testicles that you like better.

Honestly it has been more Magic management than dwight. They are about to trade him to a different team everyday when he stated he wanted to be in Brooklyn. He changed his mind at the deadline because Otis Smith promised he would trade him to BK. THEY THEN FIRED HIM! lol he's getting more hate because ESPN makes it appear as if it's him doing all this.

KB-Pau-DH2012
07-13-2012, 12:04 AM
So basically Dwight will be a 2-month rental for the Rockets since Dwight doesn't return until December.

He would take his time to come back and before you know it the season is over... smh

Clippers need to step up and just get the deal done... I think they are the only ones that really can.

If Houston lands him we will be dealing with this exact same thing in 2013 off-season. So basically Houston is gunning for Brook Lopez down the line. If they can't convince him to stay at all costs then they will eventually have to trade him to someone (Assuming they just won't be that stupid to let him go for nothing). Houston are going to be what the Magic would essentially be if Orlando traded the diva to Nets. Duhon, J-Rich, Turk, Lopez will be Rockets in 2013 if Dwight to Houston goes down.

Raph12
07-13-2012, 02:14 AM
No.

He's going to sit out a good portion of the season with his back injury, but he wouldn't play like crap on purpose... He's not VC.

I'm scared for Orlando if he doesn't get traded before the season. The vibe will be so bad.

Any player that would sabatage games deserves to be blackballed from the league.

However I can see him milking the injury. Which is still BS too

LakersIn5
07-13-2012, 09:04 AM
seriously why would dwight benefit from extending with the rockets? that rocket teaw with dwight wont be that better than the team he had in orlando and with the rockets rumored offer they wont have flexibility to improve the team which would be better than the magic. he wont be getting paid more in houston than in orlando and in my opinion orlando is a better place than houston.

His image? Thats already been bloodied to death at this point he has nothing more to lose. Good news for the Magic is that he'll be someone elses problem.

Exactly because sadly for Rockets fans HOU seems determined to rent Howard. Which is stupid because he will could likely never play a single game for them so how many tickets could they really sell.

I disagree though I know he has killed his image but it could deff get worse it seems the hate has shifted some towards orl and people saying just trade him already. So if we grant him that wish even though it's not his top choice and he still causes dramas I think people will then destroy him

I hate how people defend him sometimes yea everyone has the right to play where they want ..WHEN THEY BECOME A FA... until then shut up and play its so ridiculous your under contract u r going to 19 mill to play one year somewhere you don't want and ur gonna complain ? Its just pathetic to me ....

dwight will not stay, this is a stupid move, they will be stuck with all of orlandos ****** contracts and will have already used the amnesty. Dwight I would say will most likely end up in dallas if they dont trade him at the deadline, if they do decide to trade him at the deadline then I think he would be a Laker in a trade for bynum.
