“(Oden) called me, and he was kind of excited,’’ Conley said in a phone interview with FOX Sports Florida. “I think he’s motivated …. He wants to play. He had said he wanted to take this season off, but he’s backed off from that …. He’s open to playing this season. I think he will play this season.’’

“Obviously, if the Heat wanted him, who wouldn’t want to play for the Heat?’’ Conley said of the defending champions. “That goes without saying. They have roster spots and a need (at center). But it’s too early to say about where he might play.’’

“He’s starting to work out,’’ Conley said of Oden, who was recently cleared for workouts, feeling better about his situation. “He’s excited. You can tell he’s getting antsy. At the end of the day, I want him to finish out his NBA career. He’s still pretty young (24).’’“We want to get to the point where he’s more healthy and can show teams what he can do (in workouts),’’ Conley said. “There’s still no timetable, and that’s the beauty of him being on his own. He doesn’t have to give anybody a timetable.''

If miami can get him and he is half of what he could be that would be a nice pickup.

Heat would be the perfect fit for him. Good for Oden too. Hope he has a good career (from here on)

Philly or Boston. Maybe even Brooklyn since King is throwing money like he's at a strip club.

He should probably sign with the Suns if possible. It seems like their medical staff could revive his career. Heh.

If he gets to the point where he can play he would be a great pickup for any team. A healthy Oden on Miami would be the perfect fit for them.

This has Heat written all over it.

If I was him, I would go to PHX and I think Roy should have too. Their staff is amazing and does wonders.

Miami seems like a no brainer for him. Wont be asked to do to much, can play 10-15minutes a game.

I honestly see Nets. Why not. You're already over the cap.

Before aquiring Drummond I would have loved to take a shot at him. But our roster is full and he'll just take minutes away from Andre.

I would love it if he went to the Timberwolves if he is actually healthy.

Hahaha, this. But really, their staff would do wonders compared to that of Portland. I wouldn't mind him on the Nets either haha, but I'm sure several teams would want to take a gamble at him if the money's right.

I could see him go to the Celtics or Heat. Both need Centers. Hopefully Celtics!

This is why I see Nets. B/c they'd throw the most $$$, they struck out on Howard. It's worth a gamble w/ Lopez, Jamison and Evans being your best bigs.

Oh and I definitely could see Boston.

Come to Miami for the minimum and become a project player much like Curry. Would love to see him be able to play in the NBA without blowing out his knee. He would look even better in a Heat uniform. He wont become what he could have been, but IMO if he can come back healthy, we can see a solid 10/8 out of him.

His prime he could have been like a 28/15/4 guy IMO, and he would already be better than Howard.

Who cares? There is something called a salary cap. He cant offer more than arrison. And if you dont understand what the salary cap is then there is nothing left to be said here.

He probably wants to go someplace to revive his career where he would get PT and not have the pressure of a championship at first

are you serious? There would be no expectations or pressure on him in miami.

He would be the 10th man. Miami is the perfect situation for him, get to play along side the big 3 and build his value up

if you were the Heat (obviously they have a glaring need at C), how much and how long would you give him. They don't have that much but if Oden gets it together, he could definately help their repeat chances.

We had Juwaun Howard, Eddy Curry, and Dexter Pittman. Pretty sure he's better than all of them combined and they never got minutes.

no pressure ?!?!?!?! are you kidding me????

miami is title or bust every season... hes not ready for that yet let alone getting PT on a championship team

IF ... hes healthy he needs to play not watch lebron slaughter the competition from the bench
