I seen him playing late this past season and thought, wtf is Jerry Stackhouse doing out there? I could have sworn I had seen him hosting a NBA TV show earlier in the season.

I subbed him in over Joe Johnson while playing 2k12 against a buddy of mine and posterized him with a 37 year old stackhouse... my favorite moment playing 2k ever

Since Knick fans brag about Jason Kidd and Camby who are on the level of Jerry right now but had careers in the past I can now play that card...stackhouse was a better scorer than both of them combined.

If he wa going to the Heat, 1/2 of the forum would be rubbin' one out right now talking about discounts.

Would rather see this than yet another repetitive thread about Miami or New York.

If teams continue to throw 7 figure paychecks at him, he will continue to play.

Not so sure about that one. At least attempt to be objective. However, a prime Jerry Stackhose really could score at will.

Never though of doing that, I dominate with Tmac but scoring at will with Stack, now thats humiliating. I will try.

I think I saw him on NBATV too. He was saying something along the lines of 'well if there's interest in a championship calibre team like the Heat, I'd consider signing with them'

Can't blame him. $1.3m is $1.3m.

Jason Kidd is 2nd all time assist leader and still a good floor general

Marcus Camby is 12 all time Block leader and still is a defensive presence

Jerry stackhouse was a better scorer keyword WAS but now

I would keep playing too if I could get the vet minimum with how long he's been in the NBA. He can't be thinking he's going to play in more than 15 games next season?

Hang around, play the game you love, and maybe a title falls in your lap?

If I was him, I'd play too. Where else can you earn a million+ just to sit on the bench and play some minutes here and there?

This thread is a joke. Stackhouse was signed to provide a leadership presence in the locker room and help unify the team off the court. Stackhouse will likely move up into a coaching role once he retires so he is starting to be groomed for such now.

Signing him has absolutely nothing to do with what he can do for the nets on the court, it's what he can do for them off the court and in the locker room. Great move IMO.

Sorry, only semblence between the two knicks signing and this Nets signing are the old ages.

Jerry is completely done practically. Can't score very well anymore. Can't defend very well. His outside shot is gone.

Kidd was "done" by the time he went to Dallas, yet was an integral part for that team and is still an able floor leader.

Camby, at 22 minutes a game, still averaged 9 rebounds a game and 1.4 blocks a game. He'll play more than 22 minutes.

Do you see the difference? Stop being so blind.

:facepalm:and this is thread worthy

This is a worthy thread. Every player who signs a deal basically gets a thread, so why hate on Stackhouse? Just because he is an older player who has stayed in the league too long, this is thread worthy.
