No, Hamels is a free agent after this season while Upton is under team control for some time.

I have no link to support this, but I I recall seeing somewhere that the D-BAcks would be looking for young, positional players. They have decent SP now as well as developing kids. I don't see them wanting to deal a young/under contract Upton for a SP in a contract year.

I could be wrong though.

Besides, I think this whole D-Backs to trade Upton rumor is largely a product of the media or at least being overblown by them.

Phillies don't have any other prospects to throw in the deal (cuz they would def. have to). Contracts aside, Upton would still require more then Hamels. Throw in contract status and there is not a high chance of a deal working

How does that make sense for the D'Backs?

how about slitting my throat? Upton is better then Hamels even tho you can't compare them.

seriously, Upton has potential while Hamels likes throwing at hitters.

I feel like you should have to have 20 posts before being able to make a thread personally.

Is that an administrator's decision only?

Or can you mods convene and make that decision?

Either way, i implore someone in the decision making position to give it it some thought

Ultimately, it's up to the admins.

D-Backs are trying to dump salary, they'd be trading Upton for a rental when they aren't even contenders.

I'd make it higher, but all that means is that they would spam threads quickly to get their thread count up.
