Getting young prospects, draft picks and cap room is the way to go. Demps should be sending thank you letters to stern everyday.

The league owned the team....They got a great deal for CP3 and rightfully so or another Gasol deal would have gone down... I like that the Nba did what was best for the hornets.... I give stern a  for what they got in return.

He knows the business side very well and you can say what you want about the cp3 trade he rejected, but he made that team a perennial championship contender with the assets he got from that trade if they match on Eric Gordon which I'm sure they will.

Call me when they reach the Finals. Until then, none of this amounts to anything more than looking good on paper.

Yes, it is. You play to win titles. Period.

Elitist statement is elitist statement! But then again, you are Lakers fan.

And you're in denial. You know that's what this all comes down to.

History never mentions the guys that fought hard year in and year out, but never won anything. They get regulated to footnotes and appendices. Not just in sports but in life in general.

Stern did just enough to ensure the Hornets a better offer in spirit and sway public opinion. In reality the proof remains to be seen. The end result is what will determine whether or not Stern actually made a good deal for the Hornets, not public opinion. Mediocrity is mediocrity, whether you achieve that with 2 experienced all-star vets on your squad, or a bunch of new draft picks with "potential."

A bit over the top, no? There's no guarantee these guys can play together, they still have holes in their rotation, and Davis may be the next Michael Olowakandi. At best, he'll need a couple of years to develop offensively, and Ryan Anderson isn't exactly a post up threat.

would this topic be here without anthony davis? probably not

best thing stern did for the hornets wasn't that trade, it was fixing the draft in their favor

If your team is bad enough it's bound to happen sooner or later

Yes because the only fair trade for CP3 is to make the hornets win a title?? LOL!!
