Dwight Howard would put this team in title contention for sure, but the clips loyalty to Griffin is why they won't even attempt a Dwight trade, which I understand, but damn what a upgrade if they did, orlando would bite right away too

Wow Blake is a good player but he is not worth the max.

Griffin aint going anywhere and neither is CP3. Those 2 together are going to be nuts if they can get a scorer on the wing.

Financially hes underpaid, still puts up 20-10 while opening up the game for everyone else.

One of the young stars in the league. Smart move to lock him up long term.

He doesn't do this, he doesn't do that. He's been in the league for two years and put up 20 and 10 both years. He'll figure out how to play D and will learn a more rounded offensive game. He's been in the league for 2 years and 1 of those was a condensed season. Give the guy a ****ing break.

I'll go with what coaches, GM's, the Olympic team think over the PSD NBA forum scrubs. #1 overall pick, ROY, all-star every year, 2nd team all-NBA and now a member of team USA. Man you guys are not smart if you think he's not a max player. Who is?

I wouldn't say its an overpay, but that is a lot of money for a player who plays like he does. I hope I am totally wrong, but does anyone see Blake having some injury issues with the ferocity he attacks at some point?

Are you concerned because of all those extra games he will have to play by making the playoffs?????

Overpaid and Overrated.

100$mill to a guy who cant hit a 6 footer.

EDIT: Let me just elaborate and say that YES in NBA terms he is a max player since apparently Hibbert and Gordon are, but compared to other max players he's a bit of an overpay since hes so one dimensional

no, more so because of the way he takes off 10 feet from the rim and gets hit in the air. Eventually a bad fall is coming. Again, I hope I am wrong, but players as aggressive and high flying as Griffin end up in pain eventually a lot of the time.

My comment was mostly a joke.

But the reality is that the risk of injury applies to all high fliers and guys who get hit hard frequently (bit Rose on the butt last year, but many others remain unscathed). You have to pay guys what they are worth or they leave. Plain and simple. Griffin's worth is independent of the injury risk. That is what insurance is for. Better to pay him and keep him and have him happy, than to play it safe and not have Blake.

I see him getting taken out if he continues to try those no called offensive foul facials.

Easily a max player, smart move on the Clippers locking him up. Love him or hate him, he's a future superstar.

Great avy! You should post in the Clipper forum sometime! We need help there.

You know this is a REALLY big move for the Clipps. 4 years ago people would have said the Clippers getting a player like Griffin was impossible. Even if they got the first pick in the draft they would blow it or the guy would get hurt people would say. That did happen, Blake missed his first season. People said par for the course.

Now he is panning out, manages to put up 20/10 for his career and 21/8 in his first playoffs. All that despite not being able to play at all according to some PSD posters. I saw one say he can't score from outside 6 feet. That is a good way to make yourself look really stupid considering he can dunk from twice that distance. His presence is the reason Chris Paul agreed to play there. A lot of you will be spitting the same idiotic hate next year when CP3 re-signs.

Blake Griffin signing a near $100 million extension is a HUGE day in Clipper history! The same geniuses that think Blake isn't worth the money also would have guaranteed Sterling would NEVER pay a $100 million contract. Things have changed for the Clippers. Haters gonna hate. Atleast the haters are just hating now as far the Clippers are concerned!
